“An Historic Delight”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Prior to its renovation, this home was in shambles. It is one of the oldest buildings on the island and has become a working museum. If you want to experience living history in an authentic building (reconstructed with historical accuracy), do visit the Biddle.

“Neat piece of history”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

The Biddle house is a must see. We enjoyed the fresh baked bread, and the working kitchen. Then there is the Blacksmith shop next door which is a great piece of island history in itself.

“A short stop in downtown Mackinac.”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

PROS: accessible for those who have tickets for Fort Mackinac ; interesting re-enactors; right beside the blacksmith.

CONS: none; just short stops along town.

“The blacksmith was entertaining ”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

Seeking relief from shopping my son and I decide to tour the house. It was interesting and we sampled the fresh baked bread prepared in a Dutch oven from the kitchen. However, it was the blacksmith who we really enjoyed. Lots of stories, passed around and explained the different types of horse shoes and those made for medical conditions. He explained and shower how the forge worked and answered all if the children's questions. Afterwards, once most left we find it interesting just talking and learning what it is like to live on the island.

“Interesting house and blacksmith shop”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

The Biddle House is probably the oldest house on Mackinac Island. Simply, but nicely furnished in period furniture. The kitchen was interesting and docents continue to cook meals over the fire. The Blacksmith shop includes many tools of the trade. The Biddle House is included with the Fort Mackinac ticket.
