This is the absolute perfect place to stay on the island.

First off: location, location, location. Within a block of the Shepler's and Star Line ferry docks, easy walking to anywhere, but off of the main drag enough to get some peace.

We stayed here two night, and wish it were more. Room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Loved the bed.

We had the one room in the inn that has a private entrance, and used it maybe 50% of the time.

The breakfast was amazing, and the afternoon tea was wonderful. It rained the 2nd day we were there, but board games and tea made it a great day anyway.

We'll definitely be back again!

Room Tip: Room 11 (Catherine) has a private entrance. Nice if you're in and out frequently.

The Cloghaun is a beautiful house with a lovely porch to people and horse watch. :) The room was very comfortable and very clean and the location of the house is very convenient to the ferry too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hospitality was excellent! The breakfast and the afternoon "low" tea was excellent as well. We enjoyed our stay so much we already plan to go again!

Spent a few pleasurable mights at Cloghaun's and was delighted. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good- the beds comfortable-staff extremely friendly and helpful. The front porch does not have a view of the water- but I found it even better. Going to the porch in the morning and evening and watching the island wake up or go to sleep. The road coming up to the porch was the main one to the stables and Grand Hotel. Just sit back and watch the coaches, tour carriages, taxis, freight wagons and people on horseback!
Great value and would go back in a flash!

From my first interaction with Marti we knew we'd found a treasure of a place! We appreciated all that Marti did to make our visit positive. Upon reservation a letter with confirmation came in the mail including a discount pass for the ferry ride over.

Once at the BB we were excited for the ice tea and brownies that were there for an afternoon snack. Our room was so perfect. (#7, Anita) private bath, lots of room and clean as could be!

Breakfast was really yummy and a lot of options. Eggs, sweets, toast, coffee etc.

All and all a great experience.

This was my first time to Mackinac Island. I chose Cloghaun based on the other reviews on TripAdvisor. I couldn't have been more happy with my experience.

First off, the owners are so friendly. They make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The next thing that impressed me was their housekeeper, Clover. She was so nice and everything was spotless. I saw Clover in the downtown area one evening, and she greeted me with a huge, warm smile. Everyone is so friendly!

The location is perfect. It was slightly off of Main Street, so I didn't notice a ton of people walking by or making a lot of noise in the evening. Main Street is approx. 3 minutes away walking distance, so you're near the action! The ferries are also about a 5 minute walk away. Not bad at all.

Many people stopped by and asked about Cloghaun while I was sitting on the porch. It seems that a lot of people were impressed by the pretty landscaping and wished that they were staying as well. It's a beautiful old building. The owners definitely take pride in the place.

I will definitely stay again!

This was our first time staying on the Island and for some of us, also our first time being on the island. The staff was pretty friendly overall and Marti and Clover are wonderful!!! The porch was the spot for reading, relaxing, having some afternoon tea or knitting. The house is very beautiful with high ceilings, old fashioned decor and very clean rooms and bathrooms. I was very pleased with our stay and the food offered at breakfast. There are options for both meat eaters and vegetarians at meal time. Would definetly stay again.

Room Tip: No A/C so bring a fan or be prepared to turn your ceiling fan on. Rooms are pretty quiet but I woul...

We can't wait to come back. The service is second to none and the home is so beautiful and peaceful. So far we've celebrated our 15th and 20th wedding anniversary here. Highly recommended!!!
