We had a wonderful stay at the Lilac Tree Suites & Spa! The room was meticulously clean- just the way I like it!

The staff bought cookies and fresh milk for bedtime which my grandsons loved!

The view from the balcony of all the harbor was so beautiful. We could see all the goings-on for Main St. and enjoy the stars at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to everyone!

Room Tip: Fourth floor view is divine!

We've been coming to Mackinac for a number of years - staying at the Lilac Tree as well as other properties. We arrived at 11:00AM and the room wasn't ready. They took our cell phone number and said they would call. We wandered around town for a couple of hours and then stopped by to see if it was ready yet - it wasn't. They asked for our cell phone number again - couldn't find the previous note. Wandered around for another couple of hours and went back again. It was finally ready - no one called.

We try to get 2-room suites when we travel. I'm an early riser and like to shower/shave and get come computer work done while my wife sleeps. This activity requires a door isolating the bedroom from the other rooms - something we are accustomed to with other hotels. This suite has the door isolating the living room with bathroom sink and bedroom sharing a common area. There is a door for the shower/Jacuzzi/toilet area but its light switch is outside the door - further complicating the situation.

We could not access the Internet from either my laptop nor my wife's IPod. The hotel computers worked fine - just not ours - wireless interference. Our equipment worked fine both before and after our stay. Staff suggested I use the library down the street - which was closed for the two days we were there - Sunday and Monday.

The room was clean and well maintained. Got a call from the maid service the first morning. She saw our "Do Not Disturb" sign and was kind of curious. The front desk had already checked us out - a day early. Turndown service and the milk/cookie routine was kind of a nuisance.

We'll return to Mackinac some day. But it won't be at the Lilac Tree.

We had a great stay. If you stay here book a balcony suite which is well worth the money. The hotel is right in the heart of the city. Very clean and comfortable. Will go back again.

We have been going to the Island for over 20 years and this was our first staying on the Island. We stayed 2 nights and were extremely pleased with our choice to stay at the Lilac Tree. The suite was beautifully decorated and layout allowed for privacy/quietness in bedroom. You could not have a better location right on the main street. Staff was excellent and always pleasant. We booked our next stay when we checked out!

Wonderful hotel for our family (2 adults, one teenager, one child). Queen Suite was clean, spacious and quiet overlooking the island (not facing the main street). Liked having the refrigerator, wet bar, and updated double sink vanity. The kids loved the nightly chocolates, milk, and cookies, and having two flat screen TVs. Staff was helpful and friendly. Appreciated the coupon pack for the island given how expensive everything is there. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed two nights with a family of 6.The first night was miserable because the a/c went out in the entire hotel and the room above us was awake until 3am.... you could hear every footstep. The second night was perfect. The hotel did give us a discount and free breakfast to compensate for our first night which was appreciated. Having a big family it was very nice to have a suite with a refrigerator. The kids loved the big jacuzzi tub. We had a "garden" view, which I had to laugh because it was of the alley behind the building and all you could see was another building. The location was awesome...walking distance to most everything.

Room Tip: Might want to try for lake /street view, and consider top floor.

It was our first time staying at the lilac tree, but not our first time staying on the island. This experience far surpassed our past one. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. The location ideal! It was central to all activities but was very quiet and had a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. There is no doubt where we will be staying the next time we visit Mackinac Island.
