“Great New Years Eve Experience”
Reviewed 3 January 2014 via mobile

Spent two nights and celebrated New Years. Nice suite with excellent service. Strongly recommend.

Great time to visit the Island. Flew prop plane to and fro. Unbelievable view of the Straits with all the ice.

It was a little cold outside (-5) which made the Suites all the nicer.

We had a winter wonderland fantastic time at the Lilac Tree Suites on Mackinac Island. The rooms were perfect for a two night stay over New Year's Eve. We are so happy they decided to open up for the event and we really enjoyed ourselves. From the flight over (the ferry service was not running due to ice) in a small plane with great winter views of the Island - to the snowmobile shuttle service to and from the airport - to the continental breakfast - our hotel experience was wonderful. The unique "Great Turtle Drop" at New Years Eve on Main Street just down from our balcony was a perfect highlight of our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and especially the New Years Eve special time - we hope they do it again!

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking Main Street

We spent two relaxing days in a beautiful, top floor suite - with a captivating view of the town and the harbor, which were simply wonderful. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful, and the spa package was just what we needed. The included breakfasts at the Pink Pony were excellent and started the day just right! We truly hated to leave, but we hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: The top floor view is unbeatable.

We have a family of six and the room we were in was perfect. The kids looked forward to the milk and cookies every night that the staff brought to our room. I highly recommend the Lilac Tree Suites & Spa.

Front desk staff very helpful, as was the porter who took care of our bags from/to the boat. Central on the main street, so made it very easy to get around and back to the hotel from anywhere. Room 310, had small balcony on street, plus a large living room and a separate room with beds. Very good mattresses on beds, so great night sleep. Got a breakfast included at a place down the street, which was a bonus. Having been to both, I'd stay here again instead of the Grand--you'll be much happier and have $$$ leftover to boot!

Room Tip: 4th floor is top floor and the one to choose. We stayed on 3rd and had a 'bigfoot' above us...

Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and view very nice. Overall, our stay was lovely and I would choose this hotel again. My only complaints were that the walls were quite thin; we could hear the jacuzzi tub above us being filled and turned on and the ice machine was just outside our door which, as it happened, was right next to the bed as well and all throughout the night the ice machine would spit out a few cubes at a time. This wasn't bad enough to complain about though and if you are a heavy sleeper you probably won't even notice. The balcony was a lovely feature as well and everyone at the service desk was super friendly! I accidentally left my camera charger in the room and they made every effort to return it to me before I left the island. A great hotel for a great price!

Room Tip: If you are a meat eater you HAVE to go to the Chophouse on the main street just a short walk away. O...

My husband and I stayed at the Lilac Tree Suites & Spa and absolutely loved it! We will definitely be back! We did not have reservations when we arrived and Bart, the Front Desk Manager, was awesome! He booked us a room after letting us choose between two, and was so kind and informative and had great suggestions! We had a beautiful suite with a separate area with a couch and flat screen t.v. The bedroom was elegantly decorated, large, exceptionally clean and relaxing with another flat screen t.v.! The hotel was centrally located amid all the shops and restaurants on Main Street, yet very quiet. We truly are going to make this a once-a-year special trip and stay again at the Lilac Tree. And we can't wait!

Room Tip: We had Room 205 which was so elegant with yellow walls and old fashioned quilts on the bed. Next ti...
