I went to Stonecliff for dinner on a date the other night and it was fabulous. We were seated facing the large window that overlooks the sunset behind the Mackinac Bridge, very beautiful. We each had the 5 course dinner and be both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The first course was the Amuse Bouche, which was Chef's Choice. It was a small quesadilla with avocado and salsa, and it was very good. Next we had the BLT chowder and lobster bisque, which were both delicious. I was pleased to find such large pieces of lobster in it. I had recently visited The Woods and gotten Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the lobster was very overcooked and not very good.. it was much more pleasant in the soup at Stonecliff. Caesar salads were the next course, and they didn't disappoint. For the main course I had the ravioli sampler with chicken, and my date had the cherry chicken.. They were both fabulous. The risotto that came with the cherry chicken was delightful, and the cherry chicken itself was nice and savory. I couldn't eat my entire entree, the portions were fairly large. For dessert we had a chocolate mousse torte with honey, blueberries, and a strawberry. I loved it! Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner on the island. I feel like the Woods is maybe a little bit overrated, and people should give the Cudahy a try too, Oh, and our server Colin was delightful! We were the last people in the restaurant and we didn't feel unwelcome for one moment.
