“Romanitic, attention to detail, lots of little extras!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2010

If we ever go back to the island, we will be staying at the Market Street Inn! Kristen was so welcoming and friendly, and made sure all of our needs were taken care of. We stayed in a king suite with a whirlpool tub. The room was beautiful, romantic, updated, and modern. The room had lots of little extras like comfy robes, a small bar area with wine glasses and cork screw, a spa treatment for the tub, fluffy towels, a guide book for the island, postcards to send home with stamps on them, and even free tickets to the Butterfly House. The inn had cable, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. There was hot tea any time you wanted it, and there were even fresh baked cookies in the lobby in the evening! Breakfast in the morning was brought to your location of choice. (If the weather is nice, eat in the beautiful backyard garden.) The choices were simple, but delicious! We only stayed for one evening, but Kristen was so nice to let us store our luggage both before check-in and after check-out so we could spend two full days exploring the island. The inn is located very close to downtown, but not on the main street, so it is very quiet and peaceful. We'll be coming back to the Market Street Inn!

We were visiting the island during the lilac festival and greatly enjoyed our stay at the Market Street Inn. The innkeeper, Kristin, was very helpful and friendly. She helped coordinate getting my husband a birthday cake in the room as a surprise! The rooms were great..very clean and so comfortable! We loved the feather-top mattress and flat screen tvs. The location is great, right in town and near the fort. The breakfast was amazing and extra special to enjoy it out in the back seating area. There was nothing that we didn't like! We hope to visit there again someday; we will only stay at the Market Street Inn!!!

we stayed at the inn for our 30th wedding anniv. the room while small was cozy and very clean and quiet also. bed was very soft and comfy. there is a nice tv in the room but after a busy day on the island we hardly used it. bathroom had a shower and the water was always a nice even temp. we had our breakfast outside one day and in our room the other and it was vey good both days. small/tasty bowl of fruit with muffin and hard boiled egg. the front porch is perfect to sit on to watch the carriages and people go by. the location is great as it is close enough to activities and people watching but off the busy/noisy main street. our room overlooked the fort and it was the best view! Kristen the innkeeper is so nice and helpful. we had not stayed at a B&B before so was a little unsure at first but am very happy with our choice. it was so nice to feel that homey atmosphere but still have your privacy. would def recomment it to anyone staying on the island. we will be back!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay of two nights in room #5 at the Market Street Inn. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and the innkeeper Kristin and staff were wonderful hosts in making our anniversary a memorable one.

Market Street Inn has 9 guest rooms. Room #5 is above the main entry way to the house but was very quiet. A cozy comfortable room that was great for catching those mid afternoon naps!

A wonderful continental breakfast is served each morning and we recommend taking it in the garden patio. Local muffins and bagels with fresh fruit and juices were great. While enjoying breakfast on the garden patio, you will most likely also enjoy the company of other guests at the inn as well as Rocky the squirrel and Chip (or maybe it was Dale) the chipmunk.

Mackinac Island is a wonderful get-a-way and the Market Street Inn is located just one block from the main street and all the great places to shop and eat. On the corner opposite Fort Mackinac and within easy walking distance of everything in town.

We also highly recommend a bike ride around the 8 mile perimeter of the island. Easy ride with wonderful views. Or if you prefer, a horse and buggy ride is a great way to see the island.

We will most definitely be back to Mackinac Island and the Market Street Inn!

The sounds of rain during the night were replaced by sun in the morning accompanied by the clip-clop of hooves. Market Street Inn is just enough off the beaten path to allow these sounds to be savored. Located conveniently next to Fort Mackinac and right around the corner from many restaurants, shops and even a grocer we found the location ideal. Breakfast each morning was scrumptious and just right to sustain us through lunch. PLUS it was served in the choice of either our room, the parlor or the serene garden. Though our room was air conditioned we did not need it because the ceiling fan and outdoor temperature made sleeping a delight. Everything was well appointed and not "over the top" Victorian. The innkeeper Kristen made us feel like we had a personal guide to all we wanted to do, even having time to chat. The guests ranged from newlyweds to those celebrating long time anniveraries, and just those on vacation. The Garden Suite sounded ideal for those needing a little more room. Would love to go back...

First time we ever stayed at a B&B. If this is lodging option of choice - then you absolutely can't go wrong here. We selected based strictly on the web-site & hit a home run. Quiet, quaint, perfect amount of quiet time & service. Definitely will recomend to others.

The innkeeper definitely lived up to their motto of "exceeding expectations." From the cute garden to the yummy breakfast, everything was just perfect. Would definitely recommend to a friend and stay there again.
