This is awful! Small is an understatement, musty smelling, we didn't even take our luggage in! They own three motels in a row, the Northwinds, Bells (?), and Sunrise. Lucky for us (kind of) they did let us move into I think the Sunrise location where the rooms were acceptable. Not as small as Northwinds room, but, at least it did smell better. The pool was ok. As for breakfast, they did have cereal, English muffins, toast, and coffee. For $80+ dollars, we will look for another bargain the next time.

We have stayed many years at the Northwinds Motel. The last few years we have thought they need to do some repairs and up dates. This year, we decided this is our last year staying there.
The continental breakfast isn't much. The beach is so full of goose poop I didn't want to walk on the beach. The wooden swings were broke. In stead of buying more motels, fix the ones they have.

I just stayed 4 nights at the Northwinds Motel. I was very disappointed! I wont stay there again.
The breakfast was much to be desired! The buttermilk biscuits were stale, tasted like theybwere made way before and just put out and putbout till another batch were made after these were gone. not fresh.
The bathroom was rusted out. The heater or radiater. They clean the room everyday just brought in towels. We had the room suite they called it. There was two couples in my party. I was charged 85.00 for two of the nights and over Saturday abd Sunday 100.00.
The room smelled like it hadnt been used in a month of sundays!
Onevplus was the grill and the view!
The pool was two motels over and it was dirty and needed to be redone!
Inwint staybthere again

Room Tip: Not good Wont go back!

First the good things: the rooms are just feet away from a nice, small beach on Lake Huron. Now the bad: very small rooms, holes in the sheets, nosey, ineffective air conditioner, almost NO water pressure in the shower, although clean ants on the floor, terrible free continental breakfast. The Americas Best Value Inn, close by is much nicer and even less expensive. Mac City has many small, old strip motels like this one, none worth the price.

We stayed here while passing through on a family vacation. We were excited that it had a pool & it's own beach but were really disappointed in both once we arrived. The pool was in poor condition, full of bugs & I saw a used band-aid laying near the pool. The water was freezing & we were only able to swim a couple minutes. The beach was just as disappointing. There was goose poop all over which didn't allow our kids to play in the sand. The room itself was also disappointing. There were ants all over the bathroom & the air conditioning unit didn't work. The bathtub & toliet were full of rust & the beds were less then medicore. We paid $100 for the room & felt like we had been ripped off. It would have been a better deal to pay a little more for a nicer place. The only bright side was the owners were friendly, it's just too bad they couldn't have had a nicer motel.
