This is a very clean, well kept motel with reasonable rates. I enjoyed the location being across from the lighthouse and water as well as a very short distance to the main shopping area. The staff were all friendly, professional and kind. The pool was well maintained. My only complaint was the beds were pretty hard but it would not deter me from renting a room there in the future. We stayed during the the week for two nights in August 2013.

This is an older, more traditional motel that features actual room keys (vs. computerized cards). It's nicely located directly across from the Mackinaw Lighthouse Park and also offers a good view of the bridge from the parking lot. Comfortable and clean room with friendly staff. We stayed at the end of June 2013. The only problem, and it was a minor one, was that our room was right near the stairs and some noise in the evening that didn't affect our sleep. Only wish the motel had a breakfast offering.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the stairs.

The motel and room was nice. A couple tables and chairs out front to hang out with a great view of park and lighthouse. Only complaint is parking. I have a Chevy Avalanche and had to let passengers out before I could park in a spot. There was people parking on the grass on the side because of the lack of parking. If motel wasn't full parking would not have been a problem.

We stayed in this motel for one night on July 5th, 2013. The owner was very nice, and the rooms are very clean. This is an older motel, but it is kept up very well. It's right across the street from the Mackinaw lighthouse, and you can see the bridge from the parking lot. The room was large, and the bathroom had a tub and a separate shower. The indoor pool looked nice, but we did not stay long enough to use it. Ferry's to Mackinaw Island are 2 minutes away by car. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms sit around a courtyard parking lot and some are on 2nd floor but I don't think there i...

The location is very convenient to I-75, the bridge, Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. I prefer this area of Mackinaw City versus down the road, much less crowded and more "quaint". It's directly across the street from the park, beach, and great views.

Our room was very, very clean and actually spacious, I think it might have been the handicap accessible room. However, the bed was extremely hard and the walls are very thin. I could hear everything and everyone. Generally that doesn't bother me, but if you require absolute quiet, it's not for you.

Room Tip: The second floor rooms only have an obstructed view of the bridge. Don't pay more. Just walk a...

This is the last night of our stay. The hotel property is well maintained. Out room is very clean. Bed is very comfortable. It is very quiet. A party store is next to hotel which is convenient. We will return.

My wife and I wanted to take a long weekend getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary. While checking hotel availability online, I found out that the weekend we wanted to go was, apparently, the busiest weekend of the year for the area we wanted to visit. Consequently, the prices for available rooms were about DOUBLE what people say they were paying about a year ago. I don't know how much of that is due to the "popular weekend" claim, and how much is just a general rise in hotel prices. Many of the commenters visiting the LVM say they paid $80-$90 per night. We paid the AAA rate of $159, which came to $171 per night after all fees and taxes.

What we got for that amount was nothing special. The room décor was straight out of the 80's, including the smallish CRT TV. No flat screen TV in 2013? Nope. The motel claims WI-FI, but we were not able to connect in our end room, so don't count on that, either. There was a nice continental breakfast - at practically every other hotel in town, but not here. There was a "No Smoking" sign on the door, but the room smelled as though someone had been smoking in it, and sprayed an air freshener to cover it up. Don't know which odor was worse, the cigarette or the air freshener. My wife is sensitive to artificial scents added to many things, so thanks for the perfumy soap, shampoo etc., but no thanks. The room also had a nice little coffee maker, but no decaf for those of us who prefer that. I really enjoyed the spa tub, but it took me a long time to dry off afterward using the tiny, thin towels. For $171 per night, I was hoping for a little more luxury. Being across the street from the very northern tip of the Lower Peninsula was nice, so I guess we were paying for the location.

Overall, you will get a nice view (if you pick the right room, which we didn't), and you will get a decent price (if you go at the right time, which we didn't), and a nice staff. Other than that, you will get the basics. Don't expect anything special and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: DO NOT stay in room #100. It does not have any view at all, and can't get the free WI-FI.
