Knights Inn Mackinaw City
Ranked #34 of 39 Hotels in Mackinaw City

This hotel was on the lower end of the Mackinaw City price scale but delivered on everything I needed, in a homebase, for a weekend of sight seeing. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet, and everything that was promised was provided. My 3 year old son and I were quite comfortable in our room. I would definitely consider this hotel for future visits to the city.

Room Tip: Request a room that has been recently renovated.

We like staying at the Knights Inn. They are right where the bridge is and where they have all of the Car shows, Truck shows, and the Bridge walk. We were there for the Corvette show and enjoyed our stay. Every time we visit the owners have made good progress on their remodeling of the place. We traveled with our children and were able to walk to many of the attractions. The owners allowed us to use their garage to store our bikes for our stay. We will be back

Room Tip: The 2 story section because they have new beds in many of the rooms.

It needs a lot of work but it's coming. I think when it's done it will be ok. Small rooms, and needs updating. Hope by next year it's more up to date. Especially beds.. The towels are old and new ones should be used. Old towels are at home not when your staying in a hotel.

I wasn't expecting a lot, but was disappointed with what we got. The bathroom had a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door from the previous guest. We were a family of 4 and the breakfast was two apples, two yogurts, 1 small piece of dried coffee cake, coffee, and white bread for toast that was squished. Not even water for the kids to drink and had to ask for them to add a few more yogurts for us each to have one. And of course you have to take it back to your room because there is no where to sit to eat. We stayed for two nights and when we came back to the room after a day out exploring for the second night we only had clean towels put in the room. Trash was not emptied, and soap was not replaced. We had to go ask for more soap because we only got one small bar for four adults for two days. Room was not vacuumed, but the sinks in the bathroom were washed out. When we called to tell them the air conditioner was not working we were told they would flip the breaker switch so we could use it. When the weather is hot and everyone uses the air conditioners it over powers the breaker and it blows, so no air conditioners in hot weather. (Isn't that when you want the air on????) I guess it could have been worse, but we won't be back until the new owners get their act together and get repairs made and learn how to better run a hotel. They are trying and I'm sure in a couple years it will be better, but for now you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Choosing the least expensive is not always the best option.

We recently acquired the property and are in the middle of major renovations: new doors, decks, and furniture. Things are getting done, but it is taking time. The weather this year has played a major factor in being able to get things done.

This was room was a 70s revival (or maybe wasn't updated since then). One has to remember- this is Northern Michigan and beggars can't be choosy! The room was clean, but very outdated. The façade of the hotel needs attention as well. They must be doing something right- this hotel was sold out the night we were there. I must mention that there was no noise considering the motel is so close to the bridge. Did not engage in the continental breakfast- walked down the street and enjoyed something more substantial. To note: we arrived later in the evening and the front desk attendant did wait up for us, and was very pleasant.

This place is under new management, and there are lots of renovations/upgrades going on! They have been working on the front rooms and are just getting started on the side rooms and the deck. There is no pool (even though we were told there was!). The rooms have an awkward configuration - sort of like a 'y'. Our room had issues with the shower - hopefully fixed for the next people. While they offer breakfast, it is only a table set up in the office with not much of a selection - so stopping for breakfast was still necessary.

Room Tip: Some rooms have microwaves & fridges - be sure to ask.
