It had been awhile since we visited the Little River Casino & Manistee (our favorite Lower Peninsula town), so decided to make the trek. As usual, we were not disappointed. We've never had a problem w/any of the staff. All are always friendly & helpful. Noticed there are several new machines. The Casino is ALWAYS clean, spacious, & well kept. This is one of the few casinos that offer free popcorn & has 2 serve yourself free pop/ice tea/coffee stations. The coffee is phenomenal! Since our last visit, the Casino is now offering $1.00 draft beer to all patrons regardless if actively playing or not. Used to be a person had to be actively playing to receive $.50 draft beer. Unsure if other drink specials have changed. Of course, as usual, we never win much (if anything), but it's always so much fun!

My husband and I stayed here for one night comped. Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we gambled for a little bit. (handpaid out) YAY! Anyways, went back to the front desk a couple hours later and the front desk lady told us we would not be disappointed. Sure enough, we are on the 4th floor, north wing, in a suite-Fridge, microwave, bathroom as soon as you walk in. Than the pull out sofa, a huge dining table, fireplace, and flat screen, with a table and a leather chair. Next comes the next room with a 4 poster bed, flat screen, sitting chair, dresser, and the best of all, the 2nd bathroom with French doors and a Jacuzzi bath for 2 with 2 sinks, a shower, and a toilet. I was very impressed!!! We had such a good time and were more than thrilled at our accommodation. THANK YOU Little River!

My wife and I were sent comps for one free night at the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel front desk we were denied the comps because we had forgotten to bring the comp cards with us. Casino employee said they don't send them out and there was nothing they could do. They sent us to the players club and eventually they gave us a comp for $50.00. The balance was taken from our points which they did not tell us. Friday morning we presented our player card to pay for breakfast and still had to pay a balance. They told us we should have comped out breakfast before going to eat. How were we supposed to know? Everything seems to be about squeezing the head off every nickel and giving nothing in return. We hoped for a couple of stress free days and got everything but.

Room Tip: Best room is if you don't stay here at all.

When we arrived at the front desk after a long day, 3 women were "working" at the front desk. They continued to talk amongst themselves as we stood waiting. Finally, one woman, who appeared to be a supervisor, said that someone would be with me shortly. Another of the women did check a in, while continuing to talk with the others about how tired she was. The room, a queen nonsmoking was basic but clean. Ate dinner at the Heron and after filling out the bill to charge the meal to our room , we were asked if we'd been "given permission" to make room charges. We'd never heard of such a thing. Gave her our credit card and she brought a cc receipt for us to sign, complete with the tip we'd written on the first bill, plus a line for a tip. Read your receipt before adding an additional tip. Overall, an adequate place to stay.

When we signed up for the players club last year, the agent told us to be sure to show our card if we ever stayed at the hotel for a discount. So when we checked in I showed my card and inquired about the discount. We were told that the new manager had gotten rid of that discount, and that they also do not give an AAA discount, only AARP. I think this is the only hotel I have stayed at in the past 10 years that didn't have an AAA discount.

The room was clean and comfortable. They provided complimentary bottled water which was nice. The only odd thing about our room is you could not see the tv from the seating area, only the bed. Housekeeping service was fine.

We had breakfast at the buffet on our last morning there. The food was decent and there was a nice selection of items. Some fresh fruit would have been a welcome addition. However, we left very disappointed with the service. Our server said she was bringing us refills and then she disappeared. We waited (thirsty) for at least 15 minutes, and she never re-appeared. So, we left.. Must have been her smoke break time...

The gaming area was nice and kept pretty clean. Although we didn't win we had fun. They offer free popcorn which is nice.

When we have stayed at other casinos in the state, we usually earn enough in comp to at least buy a meal or something. At Little River we came up with next to nothing. Their players club is the worst we have experienced, they just don't offer any perks at all unless you spend tens of thousands of dollars. We enjoyed our time there but I'm not sure we would choose Little River again over the other options. A little goes a long way to make your customers feel appreciated!

We hadn’t planned to stay at the LRC on our recent trip to Manistee, but due to lack of wireless connection at the hotel we booked, which was absolutely necessary during our recent trip to Manistee, we moved to the LRC on the second night of our stay and couldn’t have been more pleased. We booked a King deluxe room, which was very large and had a huge balcony. The whole resort actually was very nice. We had dinner at Heron at the River and Breakfast at the Willows café, both very good. We spent a little time in the Casino, and for a smoking Casino it wasn’t too bad. The smoke smell really bothers me, and while one could obviously tell it was a smoking resort, I, who am very sensitive to smoke was not bother by it at all.

My only annoyance was when we at dinner at the Herron, we went to charge it to our room, like we do when we stay anywhere. They inquired if we were ‘approved’ to charge to the room. No one asked at check-in~ We have stayed at 100’s of 4 and 5* hotels and resorts from Hawaii to Europe, and after giving our credit card at checkin, we have NEVER had a question in charging anything to our room. If a further deposit was required, that certainly would not have been a problem or issue, they really should have mentioned something at check-in.

I was disappointed at the high min bets. Most of the tables are empty. $5 min for roulette and $10 for blackjack and poker. Too rich for me and a few others i spoke with. Drive to Petoskey and visit Odawa. Dealers are friendly and min bet on roulette table is a buck. Hotel and promos are better. $5 for signing up for O card, $5 promo and comp from Holiday Inn for $5 and 1/2 price lunch. I miss Odawa!
