Just spent Easter weekend traveling up to John O' Groats with friends on motorbikes, having just spent the previous 2 nights in the Inverness West Premier Inn we were looking forward to our stay here - unfortunately not the case. On our arrival, after a long bike ride, we found the evening receptionist was bob on and very nice and professional, unfortunately could not say that of the lady the following morning. Room was a little more dated and quite cold initially (our friends had no heating or hot water and had to move twice to get these 2 basic facilities!). We went down to dinner at approx 8pm (Brewers Fayre) to find only 2 staff behind the bar, one serving drinks and the other taking meal orders, hence several minutes later we got our drinks. Meals were very average, my lasagne appeared to be microwave type and undercooked. We decided on a couple of drinks and an early night as we had a long journey home the following day. Breakfast was I feel expensive (as I have explained in another review), not everyone wants an 'all you can eat' but would still like a cooked breakfast, any way going on past experience of Inverness West we ordered....... awful. My breakfast looked as if it had been 'chucked' onto the plate and the chef didn't appear to have grasped 'poached' eggs at all - mine looked as though they had been knitting with it and it was hard?!?! My husbands was full of water?!?!? Pork sausages tasted slightly scented?? Mushrooms were small, flat, black and watery?? Not the best start to the day. Unfortunately we will not be recommending this particular Premier Inn nor staying there again.

Stayed here on Thursday night. Comfortable room although it could do with a more modern tv. There was no hot water early in the afternoon but this was quickly fixed when reported to reception. We eat in the Brewers Fayre next door and the food was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 1st floor at the back.

Good place to stay with family. Family gathered for Granny's birthday - 3 separate rooms. Ideal for 3.5 year-old with bed in parents' room, Fun Factory and colouring materials in restaurant. Breakfast good; service prompt in restaurant; enjoyed lunch we had, too. (We had a vegetarian in our party - no catering problems).

Excellent reception staff. Unfortunately, one room seemed to have a faulty thermostat. That was dealt with very well by reception.

Would definitely recommend this Premier Inn so long as you have transport if you wish to go into Ayr or Prestwick

Another couple of nights, slept well in the assurance that disturbance brings a refund. The most comfortable of beds. good staff, very welcoming. Well done all. We have stayed here several times, it is the easiest of places to find, go to the end of the 77 and there you are. In truth, it is looking a little dated. I would prefer flatscreen and more channels. Radio 2 switched off at 5.00pm on a Friday! No Mayo on a Friday!! The bathroom could be lighter and it is also showing signs of age. However, M&S at the on site filling station - what's not to like! Didn't eat at the restaurant this time.

Room Tip: All seem good. Lookout for deals.

I like staying in premier inns but one attached to a brewers fayre brings the hotel down as the food was not up to the standard of usual premier inns
The rooms were cold and only small convector heaters but overall the place could do with a makeover
