Very nice, small museum with lots of local history. If you want to tour the lighthouse ... you must go through the museum.

This is a nice little museum with some nautical pieces that are interesting and educational. Perception is that if you are a sailor and/or love maritime history or items associated with the Great Lakes then you will enjoy this attraction very much. If you can take or leave such memorabilia and history then you will probably leave with the response of "it was OK but I would not do it again".

The UP is more than scenic vistas and this little museum reminds us of the history of men and women who have sailed these dangerous lake waters for over 100 years. The museum is sort of old fashioned in that there are artifacts with printed information and stories about the artifacts rather than jazzy interactive displays, but the exhibits capture the rugged spirit and times of the lake sailors (and the spirit of those tending this museum dedicated to their heritage) if you take the time to read the information presented and really examine the photos and models.

We went to this museum a couple of years ago. It's small but packed full of history and memorabilia.

This is a well hidden gem that is worth a visit. Every few years we try and check it out. Nicely done.
