Great place to spend an hour and checking out all the exhibits about Great Lakes maritime history. Don't expect any multimedia engagement but they have some nice artifacts on display.

Unless you are a lighthouse and shipwreck enthusiast, I would do Presque isle, town and sugar loaf mountain first. Then, for $9 a person, I would do this. The lighthose tour takes 40 minutes and museum about the same. You can not go into the light room but you can explore everything else in the working lighthouse. The museum discusses the areas numerous wrecks including the E. Fitzgerald and shows off frenzel lenses and rescue tactics. Not a must-see but interesting local history.

Our whole family enjoyed a visit to the Museum. Our Kids really enjoyed the scavenger hunt. I liked that it made them slow down and look at the stuff carefully to find the clues. The Highlight of this was getting to go out to the Lighthouse. They are in the process of restoring the Lighthouse but it was so cool to see it now before they are done. Also you get to go out on the point with amazing views of the beaches and the Lake. We will return next trip to see the progression of the restoration.

Very nice, small museum with lots of local history. If you want to tour the lighthouse ... you must go through the museum.

This is a nice little museum with some nautical pieces that are interesting and educational. Perception is that if you are a sailor and/or love maritime history or items associated with the Great Lakes then you will enjoy this attraction very much. If you can take or leave such memorabilia and history then you will probably leave with the response of "it was OK but I would not do it again".
