Avoid this hotel like the plague! The staff is not vey helpful, the pool is cold and in disrepair and the hot tub has to have a garden hose running into it all the time. I am still wondering how a hot tub can be the perfect temperature with ice cold tap water running into it at all times. That was the only highlight of the stay...a hot hot tub. The room would have been fine if the reservation was made correctly by the staff. Instead we were given a single queen bed for three people. Their solution was to bring in a broken roll-away. They may have taken my money but at least this review will help you save yours.

I had stayed in other Munising hotels in the past, but since this one is seasonal I had not been in town when it was open. When we needed a place to stay unexpectedly, these people were very accommodating and the price was great! Some of their rooms have refrigerators in them, which is always nice. But most importantly was the friendliness of the staff (including the owner, who is deeply involved on a daily basis). The rooms were quite clean and parking was very adequate and not far from the room. We own our own place neadby, but when we have overflow guests, this is the place to which we will direct them. The internet was kind of 'iffy' while we were there, but as we were checking out the crew was installing a very modern high-speed line so that should not be an issue in this hotel! Also, they had just put in new mattresses and ours was very comfortable.

Room Tip: They are all great, but the rooms farther from the desk are a little newer.

The lighting in the hallway was dim making the place feel creepy. The paint in the pool was peeling and the pool towels were reveling. It felt unkempt. For being "pet" friendly they said we could be asked to leave at any time if our dog barked and we couldn't leave the dog in the room if we wanted to see any of the area attractions. I would never go back.

The room was clean although a bit small. Breakfast was good. However, when we arrived the parking lot was being black topped just where the entrance was located. There was no one outside telling new arrivals where to enter the building so I had to park my car on the grass, hoping that was a safe place, and walk around until I found a door to enter. Wifi was terrible. BUT...the staff, once we got inside, was wonderful. They even allowed me to wash some clothes in their machines and with their detergent. I would stay again, but would hope they would fix the wifi problems.

Booked this location because of proximity along our route - this was half way. And although it has a Marquette address, it is really in Harvey. Hotel was older and some renovations were happening in the common areas, rooms cozy. There are not a lot of sit down meal options in the area, so be prepared for that. Free wi-fi kept dropping out and was very slow when connected. Pool and hottub at this location was a plus, the breakfast room is small (based on our group of 15 being in there all at the same time) but the meal provided was adequate. It decided to rain just as we were loading up to leave and all the water runs to the entry (the parking lot is bowl-shaped). I would stay again.

We booked this hotel because of the price, which we found to be most affordable of all the area hotels. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming and the beds were super soft and comfortable. That being said, there were several issues that will make us think twice about returning in the future. 1: The rooms are extremely small, no counter space and little room in between walkways and doorways. 2: WIFI is horrible. Signal is extremely weak and slow, goes in an out. 3: Room was dusty and our floor was never vacuumed the whole time we were there. 4: The parking lot was literally being ripped up by a huge excavator during our stay. There was no warning from management that this was going to start (hence giving guests a chance to move their cars so they wouldn't literally get stuck in their space). They could have told guests to park elsewhere, split the contruction into phases, or rope off areas where the pavement was in massive chunks. It was not fun, or safe, to transport suitcases and coolers across the ramshackle parking lot. Not too pleased with that experience overall.
