Once again, we stayed at the charming National House Inn in historic Marshall, Michigan. From the minute you step into the candle-lit lobby and see the fireplace blazing, you sense the history of the building. From the original plank flooring, handcrafted paneled cupboards and antique decor to the intriguing layout of this historic building, the atmosphere evokes an earlier time when stagecoaches rolled in with guests tired from an arduous journey and were delighted to find warmth and hospitality within. The breakfast was delicious and accommodated gluten-free needs. Architecturally, both in the commercial and residential areas, Marshall is one of the most interesting towns in Michigan. World famous Win Schulers restaurant is within walking distance of the Inn, as is the town itself and the Honolulu House - a must see.
