We have stayed at numerous hotels in Midland (have posted reviews of a couple) over the years while traveling to tennis tournaments at the Midland Tennis Center. This time we tried the Residence Inn, and it was by far our favorite. It will be top of our list from now on. The Hotel is in excellent condition, nicely appointed and has numerous amenities including fitness area, pool, hot tub, patio area with fire pit, billiards room, sundry shop and lounge style lobby with both great group gathering areas and more intimate gathering areas. The rooms are spacious, aesthetically pleasing, have very functional layouts and include nice touches like elevated plugs by the bedside for phone chargers, white board by the door for memos, reminders, full size refrigerators and separate desk and table areas. The one thing I did not like was the motion sensor bathroom light. The breakfast was the best "included" breakfast I have ever had at a hotel, though some in our group lamented the lack of bacon the two days we were there. The manager (don't know his name but he is a Lake Orion grad) was very personable and accommodating of our large group, going out of his way to make sure hot breakfast was out earlier than usual since we had to be at the tennis center early, making sure we had plates, napkins, etc when we ordered take out to eat in the gathering area and generally making sure we were well cared for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
