Stopped here on the way through to mackinaw island and was pleasantly surprised, usually stay at the main chains. The front desk experience to the cleanliness was very good! The gal at the front desk had done an evening shift then the morning shift and was still pleasant and the room was very clean, even at the end of the season

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a nice view of the marina. Enjoyed the balcony also. Loved the fireplace and relaxing in the jacuzzi. We brought our bicycles and rode all day. There was no elevator, so if you can't do stairs, request a room on the first floor. Would go back in a heart beat.

We bought the "movie package" and when we arrived we found some microwave popcorn and other random corner store treats in our room. The "movies" could be checked out at the front desk. VERY overpriced, especially since you can check out the movies anytime for free. Our DVD player didn't wirk either and the staff was less than apologetic. She just wanted us out of her hair. And, to top all that off..... the hot tub gave me a rash because they apparently weren't cleaned properly (I've used many other hot tubs and never had this happen). The town is cute, though.

So charming! Very romantic, can't wait to go back. Fireplace and jacuzzi in the room makes for a perfect ending to the day. Beautiful view! Sunrise and coffee on the cozy balcony from our room. service was wonderful, very pleasant!

Room Tip: Upgrade to corner lakeview, it's worth the extra few bucks.

We booked our 2 night stay through Priceline.com. We arrived at the hotel later in the evening (maybe 9:30pm). Two staff were at the front gabbing with a local person. We waited a good 10 minutes with bags in arms to check in. This was the least of our problems. When we gave our names, Tracy stated they didn't have the reservation, so I produced the 100% confirmation email and all the confirmation details. Tracy looked at it and said she couldn't help us. She became increasingly rude, stating it wasn't her problem. Really?? You have customers standing in front of you with a confirmation of their stay at YOUR hotel and it ISN'T your problem? She stated she'd call the assistant manager, who never responded. Tracy stated she could give us a room for the evening, but would not honor the Priceline confirmation, nor the 2 night stay.

After speaking to Priceline, we were informed that they spoke to Tracy at the hotel, faxed over all the paperwork, etc. We were told there was NOT an issue with the reservation and that we had our 2 nights confirmed.

We had an early morning event the next day, but attempted to return to our room around noon. My husband called the Assistant Manager while en route back to ensure they had everything they needed. At this time, the Assistant Manager, Brittney, stated that they were in the process of removing our belongings from the room. !?@#? We explained our confirmation, that Priceline had worked this out with them last night, etc. Brittney stated that it didn't matter, it wasn't her problem, and that we were out of luck. No attempt at any customer service and again the excuse that this isn't her problem. Wow. We returned to find that they had called the sheriff while we were away, treating their guests like criminals. They changed our keys as well. Although they didn't yet remove our belongings, we were permitted to get our stuff together. However, continual knocking on the door while we changed clothes and packed was obnoxious.

Much to our dismay, we had cancelled reservations at a different hotel early in the week in order to enjoy our anniversary weekend at the Weathervane Inn. BIG MISTAKE. Instead, we encountered rude staff (Tracy and Brittney), incompetent reservation system, and were treated like criminals. This place is a fraud. Not to mention that my credit card was conveniently overcharged when the statement came through. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Pros: super comfy bed, loved the whirlpool tub, fireplace was a nice touch (not used), very clean room and steps from the bike trail which goes for miles both north and south if you are into biking. Oh and yummy cookies every night with constant supply of fresh coffee.

Cons: the water view room we paid extra for was a view of the a boat dock in the swampy part of white lake and not worth the price. Get an inside room and eat your breakfast/enjoy the same view from the public area on the grounds of the inn.

Room Tip: The hart montage bike trail is a must do. Skip Dogs n Suds drive in.

This would be my second time to the area, we are from traverse city and have heard many great things about the area so we decided to stay at the weathervane inn. The rooms are very clean without a doubt they are one of the cleanest hotels I have been to in a while. The staff was very accommodating and was willing to move me to a higher floor for a better view. I did have a little trouble starting the fireplace at first but Brittany was very attentive and came right up to start it for me, it added a nice cozy touch to a chilly night. Breakfast was good high in carbs but thats to be expected with any continental breakfast. I talked with Kendra when we first arrived who will tell you the best "hidden" restaurants and beaches in the area. Overall the stay was very welcoming, the room was gorgeous, the jacuzzi was relaxing, and getting to know the staff, gave us a feeling of being right at home! We will be back to relax very soon!

Room Tip: Ask the girls for their favorite rooms, everyone has a different opinion corners have the largest...
