I've driven by the Royal Cafe hundreds of times and never thought much of it...curb appeal is definitely lacking. But, this weekend my mom and I decided to stop in for a late breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. It's an older family restaurant with a sort of truck-stop feel to it but everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Plus, the food was pretty good! We split a mushroom and swiss omelette and a belgian waffle. Both were great and we left full. The icing on the cake: our bill was $10.00. A hidden gem for sure and a nice place for good family dining. I rated "average" but would really give 3.5 stars because the food is quite good for a family dining joint.
