This was a curious place to visit. The town certainly had the feel of being left behind several decades ago, but there was not a feel for what it really was. Our guide said it had been a gold mining town but there was nothing major done to capitalize on that. A few pictures and things in the general store but that seemed to be about it. There were lots of shop stalls, of the flea market type, around to buy things and a couple of restaurants, but that was about it. There were few tourists about and it felt like it was a place waiting for something to happen. It did make a nice rest stop in our tour but don't spend all that much time here.
