We were booked into Graskop hotel by a tour group. What a pleasant surprise! Such a small town with such nice accomodation. Warm reception. Clean rooms. Excellent service. Very nice and tasty food. Simply a great place to stay.

The Graskop Hotel is busy with customers combining the nature with arts, which can be seen all around the hotel. Great place to visit the suroundings, especially the Blyde River Canyon.

Great place to learn to design your life (EducationalPaths.com)!!!

Enjoyed two nights at the Graskop Hotel in a beautiful white bedroom. the bed was gorgeous all in white with white walls, really exquisite and think the large curtains were white too. You opened them to a beautiful spring garden filled with flowers and greenery. It was early spring in South Africa. The hotel has a great deal of beautiful art. the dining room was so beautiful (seem to be using that word a lot), decorated with wonderful art, quite formal but welcoming , a large room where we had a wonderful full breakfast: coffee, tea, juice, a huge fruit tray, muffins and more and then you got to place a breakfast order of eggs, sauce, bacon, mushroom, tomatoes. Elizabeth took care of us. she is the lovely lady in charge of the dining room.

It's right in a central location and in addition to be a wonderful place to stay, it's very reasonable. We were very happy with our time at the Graskop Hotelo. Also the parking and facilities are locked. I would certainly highly recommend this hotel. I, of course, loved the dog and cat mascots who are wonderful and so well behave and obviously loved to much!

An easy drive from Jo'burg and a perfect stop on the way to Kruger. This is a funky "individual" hotel with each room interestingly decorated by different artists. We stayed in an extraordinary pink room (with an even pinker bathroom!) with slightly erotic images in the wallpaper! Great fun. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food good. The music accompanying meals was "of a bygone era" but nonetheless kept us entertained! There is a pool, but in spring it is rather chilly! The grounds are well kept. There is secure parking. We stayed two nights, eating out one night as the hotel restaurant was closed (which apparently happens from time to time). If we were in the area again, we would definitely revisit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is filled with art work. As others have noted, each room is decorated by a different artist, and their name is listed by the room number. In the morning, after the guests have checked out and the rooms cleaned, the doors to each room is left open, so one can wander through and see all the rooms. Very nice. Secure car parking, and separate 'suites' located around the main hotel, althoug we only need a room, so stayed in the hotel itself. The hallways are wide, there is a lovely pool, beautiful gardens, the dinning room and sitting rooms are well done and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable with white linen over down comforter and pillows. Lovely! As the hotel dates from around 1939, it has atmosphere. No AC, but doesn't get that hot, and there are ceiling fans or electric fans in each room and the windows open. Light and airy rooms. They offer a fixed price dinner menu which looked good and very reasonable price. We didn't want that much for dinner, so went out instead. Didn't realize it, but the town essentially closes up after dark, so very few places open. Had dinner in a very nice place. The breakfast is fantastic. Didn't realize they offer a full cooked breakfast as well as what they have set out (which is a lot of variety), so the breakfast alone is worth staying there! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only regret is we didn't have time to spend an extra night just to relax. Had to get going to see Blyde River Canyon and the other places (Pilgrim's Rest) on the way back to Joburg for a flight out. Wonderful place for a 3* hotel. Definitely worth the price!

The hotel is situated on what seems to be the main road of this tiny town. I was impressed by the amount of local art arund the hotel. It is has unique and enjoyable art pieces.
I stayed at in one of the Garden Rooms which has glass door leading out to a modest garden with the pool located close by. The room was neat, clean, comfortable and has all the basics.
The hotel is located close to natural attractions such as the Mac Mac Pools and Falls, God's Window, Blyde River Reserve and Potholes. The town has a very limited variety when it comes to food but Harrie's Pancakes which is less than 100m away comes highly recommeded. The places tend to close quite early though.
The staff were very friendly and were willing to share some of the towns history which I enjoyed.
Overall the hotel brings life to an otherwise lifeless town and I enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: Should you require parking it is advisable to request a "Garden Room", alternatively you w...

Lovely, clean hotel, with plenty of amazing art work around the walls. Each room has a decorated theme, and we enjoyed finding out which theme each of our group of 18 had. Friendly hotel cat came into our room and wanted to stay with us. We're smokers, but at night, you can't go downstairs without triggering an alarm, or having to wake someone to let you through. We asked for an ashtray to use on the porch near the swimming pool, and were eventually given a butter dish. We confused the barman by asking for drinks he didn't know or have (riesling) but got a nice sweet white wine. Lovely food in the restaurant - the trout was cooked to perfection. The shower was over the bath in our room, and there is no curtain at the window, so if anyone was pool-deck, they could get a free peak-show of us very tall travellers! The pool looked nice and the garden was lovely. The moles had done some damage to the lawn area, which is a daily nuisance for the poor gardener. Nice central spot to see Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Bourke's Luck Potholes. Make sure you have lunch at the pancake place in Graskop! Good breakfast before we hit the road. Friendly staff and good service.

Room Tip: All have themes, so you can't go wrong - good basic amenities, and comfortable beds.
