“an astonishing sculpture”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

Just hire a guide here (govt approved, Rs 150) to value the sculpture. Its an astonishing piece of Indian history especially the time clock calculated from sun rays.

“Amazing historical place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

This is my 3rd visit to the Konark Sun Temple. Take a guide to know the history and importance of the place. Otherwise you won't be able to feel the art in the wall of temple and magic of the history. I have great attachment with this place along with Puri. If you are going from Puri then you can take a day tour from any travel agency along with other tourist spot. Or else you can also go there from the Puri bus stand of market area by local public bus.

“Ruins Remaining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

Konark sun temple is about 30 kilometers from Puri town in Odisha, India. It has been declared as world heritage by Unesco. The temple is shaped like a chariot, in which Sun God travels from east to west. Most popular sight in the temple is wheel of the chariot. There are beautiful women carved on the walls of the temple in inviting and seductive postures. The temple was mostly destroyed but the remains still looks very impressive.

One who visits Puri for Darshan of Lord Jagannath, can not miss this sight. On the way you can enjoy beautiful beach of Bay of Bengal.
