We stayed at lumbini bamboo resort for one night. It was a bit expensive but people were nice. They said that it was deluxe room and we paid reasonable price. AC works! Location is not even 5 mins from lumbini gate.

Stayed there for 1 night in April 2014.

The staff insisted that there were a number of other occupants in the hotel. However, we never saw any of them, besides a van full of local tourists that came marching in in the evening. The place was just plain empty. In addition, the staff also claimed that all the rooms were made up of 1 single bed and 1 double bed, in a huge room. However, this is obviously not the case after looking at the photos in Agoda. I guess we can only blame ourselves for not doing our homework before agreeing to the terms. Do note that there is also an additional 10% service charge and 23% VAT to the price, so do the maths first. Nevertheless, I do acknowledge that what we paid was below the amount being quoted currently at Agoda or their official webpage. So, I guess it makes more sense to walk in instead of the making your reservations online.

On the room, while the aircon worked (in the sense air came out of it), it didn't exactly serve its purpose of cooling the room (particularly from the 40 degree heat outdoor). It also didn't help that there were lots of mosquitoes in room. Although this is the most expensive accommodation we paid for in Nepal for this trip, this is the only one which I did not manage to sleep at all throughout the night.

On the brighter note, the hotel is excellent in location, just about 100m away from the bazaar at the main entrance of the Lumbini Development Project. But given that there is much to do there by evening time, we retreated back to the room by 6pm. The garden was also lovely, except for the mosquitoes, but that's typical of the tropical region. There were also no problems with the electricity due to the backup power. Finally, I also appreciate the management's efforts for carefully attending to all the problems i had with the wifi (finally managed to connect in the restaurant after much trouble).

We stayed here for 2 nights before our Buddhist Pilgrimage Trip and another night after the trip. Generally the facilities is manageable for a short stay. The air-conditioner was not working in my room but they supplied a heater for us. No hot water during our second stay. Television is not working too. I will come back again if they maintain a good rate

This is a nice hotel with great exterior designing of houses using bamboo. The name of hotel perfectly suites as Bamboo Resort. The rooms are small but cosy with air conditioner, television and comfortable beds. The bathroom amenities are limited but manageable. Mostly the rooms have two beds, one queen and one single and can accommodate one child easily. Cost wise, it is still expensive, however, I got it fairly cheaper than their normal tariff as it was off season and there was no other guest (still expensive for locals). The garden and surroundings are just perfect and loved sitting and roaming around it. The restaurant is also good but I preferred to use the garden sitting which was lovely but had to move to main restaurant due to mosquitoes. The food was just okay and needs some attention as I found at least one food was smelly (or probably used from last night). In addition, it was extremely hot as we have not instructed well in advance. I trust this can be easily improved and visitors are advised to explain properly while ordering. The hotel also provides free internet but it was hopeless and I could not even download my emails. The staff were very friendly and cooperative, which I liked the most and appreciated their services and response.

Stayed there for two nights in January 2013, while out on a motorcycle trip. I enjoyed the stay and the food was good. Rooms were clean and there was no problem with the electricity as they had the power back up. Ample parking space with no extra charge. Will stay again.

The hotel is just near the entrance to the Lumbini gardens so it is a good place to stay.
The rooms were clean and garden well maintained. The food was also fine in their restaurant. The internet was not available but the best part was they have a power backup generator which is a blessing in Nepal where power cuts can reach 14 hours a day. Like huts are covered with bamboo giving it a unique look but don't worry the walls are normal brick walls so heat and cold stay out.
