For: good location, big rooms, huge pool, free breakfast, plenty of parking, security.

Against: the least attentive staff in the Philippines (which is a pretty good effort given the competition), old TV in room, noisy (but it is Asia so forgivable), noisiest window rattler aircon I've ever encountered. The shower has very low water flow flow when it actually has water. Supply seems to be turned off at random times during the day and given the overall helpfulness and interest of the staff attempts to get it turned back on are met with the obligatory 'Yes sir' but not much action.

It is pretty much a family hotel, particularly on the weekend so if it's your preference to wake up with a hangover beware you will have to put up with some of the noisiest (but obviously happiest) kids on the planet. Close enough to the Baretto scene to be a 50p trike ride and also far enough away from it to be away from it. Buildings, fixtures and fittings all seem to be on the decline but the place has potential. For the price it is overall good value.

Room Tip: Rooms 16 and 17 - both upstairs. Good airflow, relatively quiet, terrible noisy air con.

We booked 7 premium suites with breakfast for my family and relatives and most of the rooms we got do not live up to what they say on their website. We stayed January 11, 2014 and booked this hotel through Asiatravel. The washrooms neither have exhaust fans nor windows so you have to endure the smell circulating inside the room. The water pressure is so low that it will take you almost half an hour to shampoo and rinse your hair. The door on room 48 is squeaking too loud because it is unlevelled and touches the floor when you swing the door open. The drain in the shower is clogged and was unclean, we have to call housekeeping many times to have it fixed and cleaned. Toilet paper is just half of a roll-- very stingy. The rooms lack of essential necessities you need--no drinking cups or glasses, no dresser and they charges for almost everything you ask for-- we ask for hot drinking water but they dont provide it, they will instead provide a kettle for a fee of P100. Towels are not as white as it should be, its greyish and do not smell like its freshly washed. They also charge a fee for extra towel. They do not provide towels for use in their pool. The only good thing about this hotel is their swimming pool which is quite big. But of all the hotels i have ever been to, this is worse. So do not be deceived by the photos you see, there's more to their bad service and room amenities that is so frustrating. We will never stay in this hotel again. Never.

I used to write some reviews for this place before, but at that time it was called the Dreamland resort.
As I visited this place I booked again for last december, but when I checked in, the staff could not find my reservation. Anyway, no problem, they still got a room for me! (I had this problem also when I stayed here in May).
Anyway, nice place, a 10 min walk to Baretto and 10 min walk to Baloy beach.
Lovely swimming pool. Just a pity that there restaurant is a bit picy and there are no European breakfasts on the menu.

Room Tip: Be sure that when you book the room they confirm your booking as well. Maybe the best to do is to ri...

We stayed here 2 nights during xmas break because we didn't want to pay the high prices Whiterock was charging and figured we'd go there on a day pass (it's very close by). We were impressed with: the king size comfortable mattresses; the fridge in the room; really good adjustable air conditioning (without a noisy electricity meter); and the black-out curtains. We all slept quite comfortably.

Breakfast was included in our package and so it was limited to 5 choices: one egg with rice and either bacon, corned beef hash, beef, or sausages--or 2 cold cereals. We realized the second day that we could sub out the meat for an extra egg and the rice for toast. The dinner menu is extensive. The Chicken Stew for only 190P was EXCELLENT! Service is slow...very slow. But there's a bar and a pool table right by the dining room, as well as the very large, deep pool that offsets the delay somewhat. They also have a volleyball area and a kiddy playground. There are only 6 pool recliners...which was our first frustration. Very slow to install our extra mattresses. Reluctant to extend our package rate to our 5th person...but did acquiesce. All in all, we'd go back and would recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: facing the pool

in fact this hotel has a new managment and owner and was known before as dreamland hotel ! why they call it waterfront hotel its a miracle as there is no access to the sea. the swimming pool is huge maybe thats why but the problem is that some local guests now wearing swimsuits and using shorts and t-shirts.
the location is quiet away from the restaurants and bar's and you need a tricykle to get there. the deluxe rooms are quiet big but the aircons are noisy. the food in the restaurant is less then average and the menu is small. weekdays the hotel is almost empty but they refuse to give a discount. all in all the rooms are okay but the location is not the best

Note first: The hotel has NO beach access ! Anyway, the nearby beach was very dirty and not worth to go. The bungalows are ugly from outside, but rooms are spacious. The pool and the pool-bar are the highlights of the resort. The nearby area has a lot of sex-bars, but the resort itself is very quiet and good safety. There is a frequent jeepney service even at late evening to from and to Olangapo city.

I stayed in the Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel for 3 days in late June. This hotel was formerly named Dreamland Hotel, and has since undergone a (detrimental) change of ownership. Unsure why the name of Subic Waterfront Resort was chosen but this hotel is definately not on the waterfront. The main feature of this resort is the large swimming pool. Given some good marketing and a dedicated attempt to make the resort more inviting for customers, the Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel could again become a great success. Where there used to be a large bar and restaurant is now an empty room. I stayed in a suite for 1250 peso per night. The room was fine, although the bathroom is very cramped, (the complimentary toiletries are placed on the toilet cistern). The television is of an old type and there is no in-room safe. The website advised a phone is in the room but there is not. In January 2013, there was a hotel fire in Drydens Hotel in Barrio Barretto with 7 fatalities, as a consequence of this fire, I now always check fire exits. In the section of the Subic Waterfront Resort I stayed in, the two exits were "SECURELY LOCKED". As I was on the ground floor with a large window overlooking the swimming pool, I calculated that, in event of a fire or emergency evacuation I would smash the window to flee my room. The resort was not well patronised while I was there, and I am assuming that is the normal state of affairs. I got the impression that this resort with plenty of potential will gradually fall into disrepair as there appears to be no conscious attempt by the owners and management to make the resort an attractive destination for potential customers. Staff were OK, however they appear to have a reluctance to serve customers. I walked into the office when there were four staff in attendance chatting, as I entered, two immediately began focusing on their computer screens, one left the office and the other became highly interested in a sheet of paper. Management and staff have to appreciate that the customer indirectly pays their salaries and an ignored customer will not return and will also advise other travellers to avoid the resort if possible.

Room Tip: Check the fire exits.
