Just a few hundred yards from Suwon station / central subway, within 15 minutes strolling distance of the fortress and the recently improved pleasant handicraft / shopping / restaurant area adjacent to the reconstructed old palace buildings. Viewed from outside the hotel seems to be called the "Suwon Hotel" (the rest is in Hangul lettering). Despite the name this hotel is very much like a Korean-style love motel, where the price list offers walk-in couples a choice of taking a room overnight or for a shorter time, and the goody-bags are ideal for visitors with no luggage. It is none the worse for that - not at all sleazy, with clean rooms, comfortable beds and excellent room facilities. It would be fine for single travellers. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel although there are plenty nearby. All rooms have large, flat-screen TVs and some even have two PCs, suitable for fans of gaming. The decoration is generally less lurid than in some similar places. Prices are reasonable, from 70,000 Won per room for one night (about £40), with a discount for a longer stay. It is a little more expensive for the larger rooms, but all the ones we saw were OK. The pleasant young reception staff speak some English. Choose a room from the photographic menu at the desk and it's fine to have a look before committing yourself. We liked staying here and returned for a repeat stay.
