The room was very basic, but more or less clean and we were very happy to have A/C and to be right next to the beach (with a little garden). The beach is quite nice with turquoise warm water, although not overly clean and not as white as expected beaches in Sri Lanka to be. Therefore we went on a daytrip to gorgeous Pigeon Island, which is just a 5-mins-boat trip away, has white sand and where you can see the most beautiful fish (even sharks) while snorkeling. We spent a lot of time in the cosy beachbar, sipping beer and juice and eating the chefs delicious (although a bit overpriced and slow) dishes. The owner was a bit distant in the beginning but warmed up to us and was really nice and funny after a while. When we were the only guests, the service was good, but there were 2 other groups the second night and the service got very slow then. Overall a nice and cosy experience. Recommended for backpackers who are not picky concerning rooms

If you are a backpacker or like a bit of extreme this might be right up your alley. For a family with a little child this was quite bad. And we aren't too picky! Nothing in the room but 2 beds and a table. Only 2 things on the menu that we could eat. A really dirty beach with cows walking around and locals trying to get something from you. For the money, you expect a bit more.
Just not my cup of tea.

I had directly booked with the hotel two tripple rooms AC with Breakfast in LKR 5500 per room only. Location is very good. Far from the main town but right on the beach and easy access to pigeon Island. You can Catch Boats for pigeon Island near the hotel on Beach or can ask the hotel staff to arrange. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. ACs were working, Bath Rooms were clean. They served good Breakfast in their restaurant which is further on the beach. It is a new hotel and still building their additional block. I liked a value added facility which was shower taps fixed outside the the hotel buiding. It helps when you are back from swimming in the sea or Pigeon Island , you can wash yourself before going to your room.

Room Tip: Get rooms facing beach.

The rooms are clean and bright but are a little cramped and have little porches with furniture that look out over the sea. However, at the time of our visit there was extensive building works.

The bungelows are overlooking the beautiful beach which is extremely quite and untouristy - Perfect if you are looking for a super low key relax on the beach. The location is also excellent for travel to Pigeon Island.

The resturant however is
extremely average and slightly over priced. At times we felt an inconvenience to the staff rather than guests. This would not be so much if an issue if there were other places to dine near by, but the area at the moment is still really sparse and sleepy.

For us in February like the end of the world with very nice personel and nice food in volumes, wow! But the rooms are too small and simple equiped if you like to stay more than one night. The hotel is also partly under construction but it did not disturb us much. This could later be a nice place if you are looking for piece and quite......The beach is perfect for long walks together with a dear one.

The hotel is basic but clean and comfortable. The food was good. We did not try western food though. The beach was out of this world (it is the season now though). We went in a group of 20 so I can only say that we as a group had the whole hotel to ourselves which gave us all the necessary privacy and the cuisine was made to our requirements.

We stayed in this guest house in May 2011. We spend two weeks travelling throughout Sri-Lanka. I could say that Nilaveli (Trincomalee) is the best beach place in Sri-Lanka. There are long beaches with white send and calm ocean. Pigeon Island which close to the hotel looks like maldives atol.

The guesthouse is basic, but the rooms are clean and have fan. There were no AC at the time of our visit and it was a little bit hot at night. We were the only guests in the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They did almost all that we asked)))

The resttraunt and its cheff worth separate compliments. We ate so many various and tasty dishes (crab soup, devil fish and calamari, gambo shrimps).

You could ask the staff to bring you to the local fishermen. There you could buy fresh (huge size) shrimps and fish at very cheap prices (usually we paid about usd 10 for few kilos of shrimps and few fishes).

There is a navy base right near the guesthouse, therefore, there are no beggars (and little of locals) in the beach. We were the only white people on a 1 km beach))))

This place left for me the best memories regarding Shri Lanka. I visited plenty places in Sri-Lanka but would return only here.
