The lakshore is still pure, not poluted, not comercialized. You can really get in touch with nuture there. Rock coloures are unbeliveable. Water is crystal clear and you can find spots that is quite warm.

While on vacation, my husband and I were able to catch one of these boat tours before leaving the area. The views are stunning and our captain was able to go almost directly under some of these beautiful rock formations. We also viewed two shipwrecks while on this tour. Snacks, pop, and juice are sold on the boat and at the docking site if you come hungry. Glad we took this tour.

We took a cruise to admire the brilliantly colored cliffs, sea caves, and pristine beaches. The extensive shoreline was remarkable.

We spent 3 days in Munising to see the beauty of Pictured Rocks. You can see one of the pictured rocks with a short walk out to Miners Castle Rock. It was a highlight of our trip. The first lookout is best. The other pictured rocks are seen by renting pontoon boat, kayak or cruise. We did the cruise because the pontoon place was closed for season. The cruise was great but we would have preferred to be on our own and take our time and stop for lunch along the way. We camped at Bay Furnace in the Hiawatha National Forest and it was very peaceful with Lake Superior and short walk from every campsite. Lovely place. We also hiked to Munising Falls, Miners Falls and Miners Beach. All beautiful. Sand Point was great for sunset.

Beautiful views and it’s easy to forget that you are in Michigan! The viewing is very limited for wheelchairs so I highly suggest the The pictured rock cruise to see more! It definitely feels more like you are looking out onto an ocean as opposed to a large lake!

We took the Pictured Rock Cruise to see all of the rock formations from the water. We were very pleased with the cruise and taken by the natural beauty of Pictured Rocks.

As we were planning to be in Michigan, we added Pictured Rocks to our itinerary. We did enjoy our visit, but are sure the best view of these rocks would be from the water. The short hikes we took were rewarded by lovely views of formations and foliage.

The day we went in June it was in the high forties, Lake Superior had 5 foot swells, and the boats almost didn’t go out. But it was sunny, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and the color of the water blew us away: from deep navy blue where it was deep, to crystal clear aqua (think the Caribbean) where it was more shallow. The air and sky were SO CLEAN. It was remarkable.

We only had an afternoon, but the national park staff was really helpful with suggesting hikes we could accomplish in an afternoon. We did Munising Falls and Miners Falls. Miners Castle was our first stop on the cliffs. We walked to both observation decks but upper one was best. Lower one got you closer but you lost the surrounding views. We got to the White pine trail in the Beaver Basin last. Signage was confusing, trailhead map did not get us headed correctly. We finally found our way but it was getting dark. Bit scarey. They should direct you to start in the campground to avoid confusion with the trails at the other trailhead for the Superior trail and one other

Beautiful 5.5 mile hike along Mosquito River. Viewed the beautiful Mosquito Falls along the way to Lake Superior. Scenery was gorgeous! Doesn't get much better! I LOVE the UP!
