If you come to Munising, Mi spend the money for the boat ride to pictured rocks. They are beautiful I think the afternoon is the better ride the sun is on the rocks.

The views from Pictured Rocks are just breathtaking. Easy parking and nice paved walking paths. Pictured Rocks deserved its spot on the back of a quarter. Everyone should visit this place.

We visited the Upper Peninsula with another family and our preteen/teenage kids. We took the Pictured Rocks cruise tour which allowed us to see the entirety of the pictures rocks shoreline. We chose the twilight tour and the colors along the sandstone along with the sun beginning to set on Lake Superior was absolutely beautiful! This was a highlight of our trip. The captain explained the source of the colors in the sandstone from calcium, iron, copper and manganese. We also learned about erosion, how the trees are rooted and some favorite spots of backpackers. I would highly recommend seeing the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore if visiting the UP. We are so happy to have seen such a spectacular view of God’s creation!

The best way to see this is from the water. We took the boat cruise. The kids really had a great time.

A must do when visiting the area. Miners Castle was fantastic view and didn’t have to walk far from parking lot good for those that can’t walk far. There are several waterfalls that you can also see and don’t have to walk far. Talk to the rangers in the NPS visitor center at Munising Falls they will tell you what to see, very helpful!
