Powell Shores Lodge and Suite

A great place to stay for any season, hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, hunting and snowmobile. We have stayed here for the beautiful lake and outdoor setting yet it is so convenient to the trails, Munising and all the wonderful waterfalls, Pictured Rocks and the beach! We will continue to come back and enjoy all that Upper Michigan has to offer along with the special host Todd! Clean rooms, nice sized bedrooms offering several sleeping options, kitchen has everything you need to cook up a great meal and a great deck off the back to sit and watch the boats go by.

We had made Powell Shores Lodge our family vacation spot for many years. We love to fish and this area of Michigan offers many types of fishing experiences. So many things to do and see; fishing, hiking, sight-seeing, and relaxing. All the comforts of home and plenty of space to 'stretch out' and truly enjoy. So many good memories.

Stayed here in all four seasons:have always stayed at Best Western Alpena,, will go back to them now,, cleaner, more convenient and no smoky smell! Love the fact that BW has two room exits and free breakfast!

Room Tip: Stay away form the chlorine pool in front!

Enjoyed a fantastic stay at Todd's place on the lake. He was a great host who was very knowledgable about the area. What to see and do and how to avoid some of the traveling problems of the area. We not only enjoyed his great Lodge/home we got to see many area that are dear to him and Peg. Paradise outside of Christmas was our favorite destination. We enjoyed alittle wine and campfire on our last night at Paradise. Back at the lodge for a very late fire in the fireplace was the exclamation point. Great stay, great accomodations and very good host. Can't say more about the the area and how great of a time we had. Sydney's Restaurant offered very good food at darn near poverity prices. Don't know how they do it. Great prices locally except for gas. I would recommend Powell Shores Lodge to just about anyone. We were there for snowmobiling however the lake looked great too.

We arrived to a well stocked and very comfortable house. Yes, house on a lake that had direct trail access. We couldn't have asked for more. Mom curled up on the couch by the fireplace and read while we plowed thru the miles of groomed trails. What a complete vacation. Good eats/thanks to my great wife, (and Sydney's Restaurant), fantastic trails, good fishing with tip ups and a clean, well furnished HOUSE to stay in. thanks todd for your hospitality. Our dog jake enjoyed the early morning cross country skiing with my nephews too. What a great getaway.

Rest, relaxation and a recharged inner soul prepared me for another charge into the busy summer season. The lodge was very private and the suite turned out to be alot further then most cottages in our area. It was so far away we didn't even know anyone was there. Great morning sun rising views. Nothing better with a hot cup of coffee. Everything the site says was there.

Enjoyed a great time at the suite, only needed our fishing pole and hiking boots, everything else was there. Great, quiet vacation. Enjoyed the library and my grand dad enjoyed the satellite tv. Great bbq. on the deck. What a sight.
