In total my experience with Léon was amazing. And staying at lazybones did help it. It was nice and clean, having a swimming-pool was wonderful and most of the staff members was so friendly. I'll definitely recommend this place. And we did the volcano boarding with them as well. They might not be the cheapest in town, but I had a day I'll never forget

This is a nice and relaxed hostel with a great swimming pool to cool off after the heat of Leon. I arranged my tour to Cerro Negro through the hostel and at US$25, it was cheaper than most other hostels and with a nice small group.

The dorms could do with a few more fans though as I woke up every morning sweating. It would also be nice if they offered free water refills. However, the staff are very friendly and overall, this is a really great place to stay in Leon, especially if you want a more relaxed hostel rather than the big party hostel of Big Foot.

When we arrived we discovered that our reservation confirmation that we got by email was not worth anything. They couldn't find our reservation in there room schedule and it was by pure luck that we got our room with private bath.

The rooms in general are very dark and and hot, esp. under the tin roofs, but at least they are clean in general for Hostel standards. The private bath turned out to be a nightmare as the faucet broke free from the pipe when just gently turning on the water. The staff tried to fix it, but had no tools or spare parts. As to technical Nica standards there was no main valve to cut the water supply for the room completely. They told us the repair will be done "manana".

As a result the water was running in free flow the whole night the respective noise didn't let us sleep. We moved to the upper floor under the tin roof but it was not much help. I didn't catch sleep at all.

The water was running the whole night, but not at all in the evening when I needed a shower to refresh myself. Lazybones has its own water supply system which seems to be unreliable. We experienced three water cuts in just one day.

The next day's attempt to repair the faucet was not much more than the helpless try the evening before, but "manana" it will be repaired.

Well, we decided to leave to a better place that we had found easily in Leon.
As I asked for some compensation for all the hassle they offered us nothing not even a symbolic discount. They simply didn't cared at all.

We arrived unannounced in the early hours and we're accommodated in a small but clean room, it is a hostel but doesn't need to smell of sweaty feet and be noisy. None of which this was. Next day the found us a better room. The place is a little haven from the stiffleing heat of Leon although like most of Nicaragua there is no aircon. All rooms have fans but the heat at night can be overwhelming. So. Lack of aircon is my only criticism. Staff were very friendly and the food was terrific. Close by is a laundry and lots of reasonably priced restaurants.

Arrived late without prior booking and staff were very helpful and accommodating especially as this was over the Easter period, which can be busy.
Our first room , 4 bedded, dorm for our family was very hot and one of the fans didn't work which made it quite stifling. However the next day we changed rooms which was much better, 2 storey room with 3 separate sleeping areas to accommodate the 4 of us.
The breakfast was great on site and the tea and coffee on offer between 7 am and 10pm was great touch.
Lazy bones has the luxury if a pool, much needed after a day of site seeing and activity in hot April!
The staff were helpful and offered advice and assistance. Great price, great location in a quieter part of the city. Would highly recommend.
There are numerous great places to eat as well as street food in the cathedral square in the evening, tasty food with humour from the cooks.
Unfortunately due to the numerous earthquakes we could go volcanoes surfing when we were there so cut our trip short and carried on travelling around Nicaragua.

Stayed a night here passing thru to Jiquillo.
Stayed in a room with private bathroom.
Room is nothing special but does the trick. It's clean which is important.
There is a "Nicaraguan safe" in our room which means over time people have burrowed out a hole under the mattress to hide personal objects.
Very quiet hostel in regards to the temperment of the guests. We walked by another hostel that evening and it was a gong show to be compared to a spring break in Cancun!!
Across from lazybones is a great little international restaurant. But it's actually HUGE!!! Big awesome courtyard and great staff.
