“Awesome Insane Volcano Boarding with Bigfoot”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

We went volcano boarding with Bigfoot and would recommend them if you're looking for fun and speed (they have the fastest boards). This is a great excursion and a must-do for any adrenaline junky in Nicaragua. To really get a feel for what its like see our blog post (with video) on our blog here:

“Great fun.”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We hiked for a little less than an hour to get to the top of this volcano and took a few minutes to enjoy the view. The hike was steep enough to get your heart rate up, but was not too difficult. How many times in your life can you sit on a makeshift volcano board and sled down? We went with Tierra tours, which we decided was a fine option for us. If you choose to do this, be mindful of the company that takes you. We saw quite a few horrible looking injuries along our travels in Nicaragua that were the result of Cerro Negro. Tierra tours gives you a full jumpsuit to slide down in. My recommendation is not to be fearful of going too fast, as it will be over before you know it and you should make the most of your one go! (There is a company that goes twice, but not ours).

“wow”

Prepare yourself to hike an hour in the sun beaming down up STEEP volcano. Views are incredible, volcano boarding down takes some skill, but running down the side was a better option for me.

“Very interesting but watch out for the "sand boards"”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 via mobile

The way up is not too tough, although it can get windy at the top. Seems like the family who charges to get up there is illegitimaly running the show but not advised to go up without paying!! The stading board is just a fraud, do not get it or u can severely injure urself, its simply not manufactured for that purpose. The other one works just fine. The volcano itself is awesome
