I ended up at this hotel at the last minute, because the hotel where I was originally booked was having a concert with deafening music. This hotel is located a few blocks away in a quieter part of the city center.
The room was quite basic with a bed, night table, luggage and clothes rack and a fairly unsteady table. No chair. The A/C was working ok. Bed linen provided but no blanket or comforter. Basic bathroom with missing toilet cover. Shower with decent water pressure; water temperature difficult to adjust. Minimal toiletries. Only a bath towel provided (no hand or face towels).
Sound-proofing was completely lacking. Fortunately my room was not facing the street and was reasonably quiet. However, don't plan to sleep past 6:30-7:00 when the noise starts.
Complimentary Wifi.
Breakfast: edible, no buffet, few menu options to choose from.

If you want to be close to the Nica culture this is your place, Lovely place to stay, I recommend for sure.
Comfy Rooms, good breakfast and cleansed. Overrated price but still worth it, The staff can be so much better, unfortunately not the best customer service. But the build it's pretty.

This hotel's location is perfect if you'd like to be close to all popular landmarks and restaurants in Leon. It's a quiet hotel. A little spooky feeling here. There's also parking out front they hold off for guests. Our room was spacious with 3 beds, and happy to not see any bugs. But the AC was terribly low. We left it on all day and didn't feel comfortable still when we returned at night. There's 3 options for breakfast but they can't customize anything for you. You can only choose what's on the menu. At least they had free wifi. Also, they close their doors at night so you should get back in at a decent time in evening.

Room tip: Clean room and quiet floors.

We checked in at our favoritt place in Leon. No one met us the entrance to help with the suitcases. No smiling person in the reception.
In the reception area we observed that things had changed. Paintings on the wall, old stuff like the ski in the bar was gone. The bar was empty, the only furniture was some fridges full creamy cakes. Tables were moved towards the patio. Much of the old atmosphere was gone.
Room 14 looked the same, but we did not get water until 11pm, and when I had my shower, the heater exploded. Ok, the water was not that cold afterwards. Next day we were charged 75 USD for the stay. Often some discussions we paid 55. We had a suspicion that there was a now owner who wanted to save money, but that was wrong. Sorry, Los Balcones, this is too bad. But our memories from the old days remain.

This is a really cool building in a great location in town. It also has rooms with AC and hot water. Those are all good things, especially the cool building part, but there were some issues under the surface that left me unconvinced. We lost water every day we were there (which is common for all buildings in the city) and there was no backup tank, which most hotels would have. We came back from volcano boarding covered in ash and dirt only to find that there was no water and no backup option until 10:30 at night. And then the water was gone again the next morning so it was a good thing I got in a shower late that night. Once again, you can't blame them for the city losing water, but I entirely expected a hotel of this quality to have a backup tank.

The balcony aspect is cool but I'm still not sure exactly what their purpose is if not just for standing for a minute to see what is happening below. There isn't space for a chair and it really is more of a token aspect to make the hotel unique.

The bathroom also had a couple issues, the toilet flooded a bit and the shower wasn't particularly strong.

In general, this is a nice hotel with a few issues under the surface. If you are looking for a place to stay in the center of town in a cool old building then you will have a great experience.
