My wife and I stayed one night in La Perla and up-graded to a junior suite. This was a very nice room, with a balcony (but there is no view from the balcony) but it added considerably to the cost. The standard rooms, from what we saw, were nothing special.
The quality of the hotel overall is very good and it is the most expensive hotel in Leon. The pool is small in a small courtyard area so is adequate for a cool- down but is not a place to sit out contemplating the world.
Location of the hotel is close enough to the town centre but misses some of the grander areas of Leon.
Service was at a high standard and the hotel's own airconditioned car took us back to Managua via the old destroyed city of Leon for no extra charge which was generous of them.
We would consider staying again but next time will book the other leading hotel in town, the Convent, which has lovely gardens but is probably not quite so well speced out.More
