If you are able to forget the 70's look of the Hotel, and pre-fall-of-the-Berlin-wall style (including the staff), this is a very nice Hotel on a marvelous Island. It is conveniently located. It would probably be more picturesque to stay in Komica, but there seem to be not so many choices. So as one of the few Hotels in Vis, which is a really wonderful place, worth visiting if you are in Croatia, this does the job. But have no high expectations in terms of service, or breakfast. In any other place I would have rated this as Average.

Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the harbour and offers amazing views from the spacious balconies. Rooms are large and kept clean however the beds are hard and mattresses thin. Good shower and the bathrooms are very clean. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby which is a little tired and in need of decorating ....... and some seat repairs as some are torn and tatty. The restaurant is spacious and the evening buffet meal is typical 'hotel-style' but offers a good selection of food and is good value. Breakfast is a little limited. Considering the price though I think that is is good value and if nothing else the views are worth paying for!

Room Tip: Sea view on a higher floor but check that it has air-conditioning as not all of them do.

We had read some mixed reviews on the Hotel Issa. As we booked rather late we were left with a limited choice of Hotels (ie none but this one) so the Issa it was.

The location is nice - 5 mins walk by out of the town of Vis Town.

Check in was pleasant and efficient.

The room was basic - old "big" TV, and a telephone with a circular dial. No fridge or wifi - but free and very efficient air conditioning. The beds were comfy enough and the room was serviced daily and kept very clean. Bathroom had a shower cubicle - worked very well - loads of hot water whenever one wanted it.

The view from the balcony - we had a sea facing room - was superb - one could just sit and watch the yachts as they came and went into the harbour. An odd feature of the room was that there was no window ! The door to the balcony could be opened to act as one - but if you open the curtain there was just concrete. Bit odd....

Breakfast was ok - nothing dazzling but filling and a lot of choice. We were, we think, the only Northern European guests when we stayed - the majority of the others being Slavic. (Croatian, Serbs etc....). We quite liked that - but some may find it difficult. All the Hotel staff spoke good Engliah.

There was free wifi in the lobby - which has plentifull seating. Just the other side of the road is the sea where many guests sunbathed and swam.

All in all we really enjoyed our 3 nights here - It's basic but its just what we wanted. Reccomended.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the bay are worth the extra

This hotel has a good location, 10 minutes walk from the town centre and ferry. The beach is just outside the hotel.
The hotel itself is a bit dated and in need of some refurbishment. However, the room we had was clean, good shower and a large balcony. Air con is extra (50kn a day), which is irritating as it is essential in high season, but it is very good and you just factor that into the price.
WiFi is now free and works well in public areas.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food is average. Breakfast is what you would expect in this part of the world. We had dinner once, OK, but uninspiring.
Overall, this is a good hotel for the price.

This is an average hotel in a beautiful place.Definitely do not expect much. The entire hotel is decorated spartan, old-fashioned and whit no style.Rooms are small and simple whit no wifi.Breakfast was mediocre with a fairly simple choice of food.
Hotel staff is also not on the level, rather uninterested. On the other hand, the hotel lies on the beautiful place, beach is across the street, and the view is beautiful.Vis is a beautiful little place so that you do not need a car and you can see the foot from hotel. Finally, average is a good rating for this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights after arriving on Vis with nowhere to stay after our apartment had been double booked. We paid nearly £100 per night for a clean simple room with a great shower but no fridge, a fantastic view of the sea and the harbour, but no aircon. Beach across the road. Simple breakfast boiled egg/omlette, processed meat ie ham salami mini hot dog sausages, cheese, sweetened orange juice 2 fruits, yoghurt, cereal, brown or white bread, no toast. All in all would have been simple and lovely if half or even two thirds of the price. Instead we felt it was just way over priced.

Being one of three hotels in Vis, Issa has the best location with the beach just in front.
Hotel is averge and quite old, but I must say that everything is very clean and the staff are nice and polite.
Food was okay, just what I expected to get in a 3 star hotel.
Every room comes with a balcony which is practical for putting there wet bathing suits and towles.
All together, it was fine.
