“Delightfull!”

We stayed for five nights at the "Vieux Pressoir" in Itterswiller. The hotel is ideally situated along the "Route du Vin", half way between Strassburg and Colmar.
Our spacious, quite confortable room was overlooking the vineyards.
The breakfast was not continental at all: a vast range of breads, croissants and koughelhopf, fresh fruit salads, not to mention delicious marmelades and a choise of cheeses.
The chef Pascal serves an inventive, sparkling cuisine, miles away from the sometimes huge portions of food they serve in nearby restaurants. Definitively worth a mention in the Michelin. Besides that, Christelle gave us good advice to the marvellous Alsace wines and the local winemakers.
We surely will come back!

This B&B is definitely well worth booking if you are visiting the area. We were made immediately welcome on arrival by our hosts Christelle and Pascal who cannot do enough to help and are very friendly. . The rooms are part of a very old building and have been renovated and modernised but are still in keeping with the ambience of the Vieux Pressoir. Our room was large enough to have a seating area, the bathroom was modern and very clean and overall the room was charming. The view from our room over vineyards was beautiful.
While Christelle seems charged with managing front of house, Pascal is chef and we ate in the restaurant both nights as the food is absolutely delicious! Definitely not to be missed! The breakfast also drew an "Ahhhhh..." from us when we walked into the breakfast room. The quality and amount is staggering. Little pots of creamy yogurt with fresh raspberries and raspberry coulis, cereals, fresh crispy bread, almond, chocolate and plain croissants, a selection of ham, cheeses and jams with plenty of fresh tea or coffee each morning was a beautiful way to start the day. Christelle is always at hand to check if everything is OK and to ensure that all your needs are met.
The village of Itterswiller is a lovely example of the villages on the Route des Vins. It is made up of medieval looking houses as well as more modern chalets but all are in keeping with one another and decorated with sumptuous displays of flowers in every manner of basket. In fact the flower displays are one of the highlights of the Route that will remain in our memories. There are plenty of opportunities to taste and buy wine from the Alsace region in the village whether from shops or the vine growers themselves.
When we left Christelle and Pascal came out to wave us off which was a nice parting touch. We cannot praise our hosts and their establishment highly enough.

Room Tip: All are lovely but the two at the back are larger

Quaint little B & B, very comfortable, and a beautiful view. Christelle is so sweet and welcoming, and Pascal is a wonderful Chef! Make sure to eat at the restaurant...delicious! We stayed for only 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

While taking a weeklong road trip from Paris to Strasbourg, my husband, in-laws and I stayed for 2 nights at Les Chambres du Vieux Pressoir. It was a truly lovely experience, especially due to 2 things: 1) The extremely wonderful hosts, Christelle & Pascal, 2) The very charming little town of Itterswiller.

The Chambres du Vieux Pressoir is situated on the main street of Itterswiller, and the main street, composed of quaint stores, restaurants, and other bed & breakfasts, is surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. You can take a stroll around town and feel like you're lost in a provincial village right out of a storybook.

Itterswiller is also just a 45 minute drive to Strasbourg, and Christelle was so thoughtful in giving us directions on a place to park outside the city for free so that we could take the tram into the city.

There are only 3 rooms in this bed & breakfast, and we stayed in Iris & Hyacinthe. We had asked for Orchidee, but it was already booked. However all the rooms were spacious, neat and clean. Oh by the way, the breakfast part of the Bed & Breakfast was delightful!

This year Isabelle, my wife, and I we've celebrated of 13th Saint-Valentin.
We decided to have it at the Caveaux du Vieux Pressoir in Itterswiller. we knew the restaurant for a while, at least seven years, and knew it is one of the best in the area. It clearly desserve a recognition in books such as Michelin or Routard or whatever.

Our experience with the rooms is just great. Places are very clean, well furnished and organised. They are simple but very very nice. The view on the wine-yards is amazing. The breakfast is the best I have had for all my experiences.

Last but not least, the service and the friendship demonstrated by Pascal and Murielle are priceless. You are clearly considered as a priviledged host. They do whatever they can to make your stay an unforgettable time. And I have to say that they succeeded !!

We have yet booked our place for next year Saint-Valentin...

Thanks a million.

Combine a charming medieval half timbered house, beautiful rooms and lovely views, with an attached restaurant worthy of a Michelin star, and you have a recipe for a great vacation. We recently spent a week at Les Chambres du Vieux Pressoir and it was perhaps the best stay we have had anywhere--at any time.

Our room was lovely and superbly comfortable, with a great view of the Itterswiller vineyards. The location was great for exploring southern Alsace, but is also close enough to Strasbourg to make that accessible as well.

What really made our week, though, were the hosts Christelle and Pascal--warm, welcoming and helpful beyond all our expectations.

Although the building was attractive, the host charming, and the food good, I cannot recommend this hostellerie because the combination of hard chairs and a metal bedhead meant that there was nowhere comfortable to sit and relax, despite the fact that the rooms are suites (We were in 'Hyacinthe'). As older people (late 60's) we always book suites specifically to be able to relax comfortably after a day's sightseeing, so we were disappointed. The bed itself was comfortable for sleeping, and with a change of sofa and chairs for ones that would offer more comfort, we would be happy to return..
