arrived quite late on a Friday evening and we were served quickly with some traditional alsacian dishes, which were a real treat. service is a bit erratic but food compensates that largely.

Fırst impression was : Before out visit we wanted to book a table by mail but they didnt reply. Waiters are not well trained they dont know how to serve . Salt and pepper was like a dinner on a highway not a relais-chateaux standard!!! Main course and desserets were average all over impression average restaurant not a michelin service and taste!!! House offered Alsace speciality cottage cheese was unfortunatelly below average! They are lucky to be allocated in a place like kayserberg if they were in a bigger city such as strasbourg they wouldnt be famous for sure.

the restaurant is quite busy, so be sure to book in advance. It is located in a charming hotel and shares the kitchen with a 2-star michelin restaurant in the same location, for a fraction of the price. Quite cozy and inviting atmosphere, possibly the best option in this lovely little alsatian town.

we walked into the Chambard at lunchtime (late) and were quickly welcomed and seated. rustic sort of setting, comfortable and informal. Seasonal part of the menu was particularly interesting. partner much enjoyed a soup based on ceps, followed by fine choucroute with fish. the terrine was excellent; the lamb was good , if some parts a bit chewy. Good choice of wine- local of course prominent- whether by bottle or carafe. Service efficient and brisk, but friendly. Very good overall, but at the upper end of the price range.

After a week of hiking through Alsace, a lot of restaurant menus can start to look the same. Chambered offered something a little different, interesting game choices, all well prepared. Staff was very friendly.
