“Experience of the restaurant”

The food was not too bad,but the menu was different as shown on the card and after inquiring there was not explanation given. They served us the wrong bottle of wine, but insisted that it was correct.....! The service was impolite and the servants unfriendly.
We did not stay in the hotel but only had dinner in the restaurant.
A waste of money. There are much better options in Ribeauville.

This is a basic hotel where the staff cannot speak any English
The breakfast consisted of coissants bread jam and fresh apricots and a yogurt and cost €8.
The rooms are very small with no air conditioning which when the temperature outside was 40 degrees it was unbearable.
The worst thing was the dog poo outside the bedroom window. The garden was sloping so on the first floor the poo was right in your view as you looked out .
The barking dog had the run of the side of the hotel garden, so insist that you have a front facing room.
The food on our fist evening was appaling but the 2nd night it was edible but we were in a party of
19 where a little more effort was taken.
The town was lovely and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Front facing double room

This hotel has not kept up with time. It is small and the rooms, though clean and well equipped, are not very comfortable. No place to sit in the room, aside from on the bed. The room was mostly below ground level, so when the window was opened it barely clear the dirt. The upstairs outside patio is in a state of disrepair. The dining room came with high recommendations, which is why we stayed there. The food was not up the par so it was a wasted trip. Breakfast was the highlight, though overpriced at 8E.

Room Tip: We were in room 15, avoid it.

The location of this hotel is excellent, right at the end of the pedestrian zone. The location could not have been better, it was a quiet part of town. The price is very low for such a location, but balanced against that is the state of the rooms and furnishings. This hotel is very old and the bathrooms have not been renovated for 20 years I would guess. Still it was very clean, and the price was great. We had a quad room for the family, and a single room for Grandma. Both were very clean, a bit warm during our summer stay (it was unusually warm weather). If you are on a budget, it is a good value, but if you want luxury then you should look elsewhere.
Breakfast was very good, the usual continental breakfast with yogurt, cereal, pastries and coffee, served in the restaurant downstairs. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant, but it looked good and popular (we wished we had tried it). The restaurant seems in better shape than the hotel actually, well decorated and cozy.
Staff was friendly though they didn't speak English well. They were matter-of-fact, definitely not pampering, but that was fine for us.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a biking trip to the area. The hotel is situated towards the top end of the medieval town centre, so is actually fairly quiet without being a long walk from the restaurants and shops of the town.

The hotel could best be described as 'basic but comfortable' - the rooms are nothing special (even a little dingy compared with the ubiquitous you-could-be-anywhere chain hotels), but they are adequate. The hotel has little in the way of amenities (no gym or pool, for example), but the restaurant serves food that is both good to eat and excellent value, and the ancient town centre itself is well worth a prolonged stroll.

I'd advocate visiting out of the high season, as parking could be a challenge when the town is busy (they did offer to let us park our bikes in their garage, but in the end we didn't feel the need to), and apparently it is a real tourist hot-spot.

There's a small yet very friendly bar across the street (serving very good locals brews), and several excellent restaurants in the town. It is also an excellent base from which to explore the local area.
