PROS: free exhibits at the Barn; photogenic houses; interesting information about the houses, Muskegon itself back in the day.

CONS: gift shop could use more items.

“The Jokes on Me!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We've been visiting Muskegon for years and always joked a bit about visiting the Hackley house. Well, we finally did, and the joke is definitely on us. We had a fantastic tour and leaned a ton. Having both houses side by side allows you to contrast the living styles of two prominent families in times gone by. Thee woodwork in the Hackley house is nothing short of amazing. The spirit of family in the Hume house is just as cool. Definitely recommend carving out 90 minutes and stopping by for a tour!
