Martha and I stayed two nights at Chevrefeuille in October during a Dordogne bike trip and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The market tour and cooking class was as good or better than any we have ever encountered either in France or the US. Ian’s Market tour is fantastic: the explanations, tastings and commentary with several different vendors was very insightful. The menu for the cooking class was truly informed by what was fresh in the market. The open-outdoor, but covered, setting for the class is brilliant and wonderful. Ian is a master at working with the class and we enjoyed his sense of humor on “cheffy things.” One thing I enjoyed over other classes when we have split into small teams is that each team made everything (instead of one team for entrée, another for desserts and so on).
Sarah is a terrific host and the setting at Chevrefeuille is charming, quiet, peaceful and easy. The room and bathroom is very nicely updated. In addition to a great petit dejuner, Sarah and Ian provide a common refrigerator, use of washer-dryer, beverages on the honor system. Plus a host of knowledge and information about the area. We look forward to returning some day. M&MMore
