just spend one night at this hotel. We took a quad room overlooking the lake. The room was clean and functional perfect for a family of four with older children as the two single beds were up the stairs. Staff on reception were welcoming on arrival. The only issue I had was on check out that my Expedia receipt said I had paid a deposit and the hotel said we they had just taken card details but no deposit so I'll need to check this out when I'm home. It was an easy 5 minutes drive to the surf beaches from the hotel and town was also a 5 minute drive and full of great surf shops. on site across the road from the hotel was a lake with lake beach, a great place to sit in the evening drinking wine and eating oysters from the cafés around the lake. Pool looked good. breakfast was continental style, nothing special but they did make fresh croissants for us when they ran out and the coffee was good. All in all I would say this was a perfectly good place to stay in a lovely location.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view.

This is our third visit and have just had ten great nights here. We just cannot understand the comments about the rude staff. We have nothing but praise for all the staff, many young and enthusiastic and well balanced by highly professional older members - all pleasant enthusiastic, keen and eager to please. The situation of the hotel is perfect, opposite the beautiful tranquil lake and away from immediate beach hustle and bustle, but convenient. The dining room has been refurbished and the terrace has new sunshades to shield diners from strong sun. We cannot recommend this hotel too highly, good value, good sized bedrooms and wonderful private balconies (always choose opposite the pool it is quieter)

We were a party of six walkers and arrived exhausted to extremely unwelcoming and uninviting staff. As guests, we were made to feel a total inconvenience to the charmless staff. Reception is cold and unhelpful. The dining room had the ambience of a funeral parlour. There was no attempt to greet diners, the staff were rude and unprofessional. The service was slow and the menu was limited and inflexible. Our vegetarian friend tried to choose from the menu and was TOLD what she could have and virtually told she could not choose - then they brought her a poached egg starter served on HAM plus a small cereal bowl of plain vegetables and a simple pudding and charged her just as much as us meat eaters. Prices were high and service far poorer than other hotels we stayed in on our trip. We seemed to be served last and I wonder if this hotel just doesn't like English visitors. (I note that French clients give better reviews and we seemed to get served last all the time). The hotel is drab and dreary and not especially comfortable or up to date - it might be possible to overlook this, if there had been any attempt to make guests feel welcome or valued in any way. We have traveled in France for the last 30 years and I consider that this hotel is spoilt by the staff's attitude. None of our group would recommend it. You will notice that my review is similar to others - well I agree with their reviews.

The dining room had the ambience of a funeral parlour; there was no attempt to greet diners, the staff were rude and unprofessional continually complaining of their work load to other guests, the service was slow and the menu was limited and unchanging. The hotel is drab and dreary and not especially comfortable or up to date - it might be possible to overlook this, if there had been any attempt to make guests feel welcome or valued in any way. I have travelled in France for the last 25 years and lived in Paris very recently for 2 years; I consider that this is the worst France has to offer. Extremely disappointing and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Room Tip: We were advised by the hotel to take a room at the back, not overlooking the lake to avoid noise fro...

Not a great hotel, but in a great situation. The hotel was generally shabby, check in and checkout were chaotic and the restaurant too expensive for both breakfast and dinner. Our room was well worn and very ordinary. I wouldn't recommend.
