I loved this little bed and breakfast. We stayed here one night after spending the day at the Normandy beaches and planned to go to Mont St. Michel the next day. The house was beautifully decorated with exquisite attention to detail. We rented the family room with was on the top floor. It's actually two rooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom in between. The house was charmingly old, but the bathroom had modern showers, toilets and each room was immaculately clean. The owners were very attentive and pleasant and spoke just enough english to communicate the basics. Breakfast was simple but good and parking was plentiful. The yard was huge and neatly maintained. I was worried about the house not having air conditioning in August but with the windows opened at night, it was quite cool and comfortable.

The Jardin Secret is hidden behind a high wall and luscious gardens so that it lives up to it's name of 'secret'. The house is delightful if somewhat quirky and full of ornamentation - certainly lots to look at. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable - a little bit too much antique furniture for our liking but pleasant enough overlooking the garden. The shower was a hose over the bath which lacked pressure but otherwise fine. Breakfast served for all guests around a large dining table - very pleasant and lots of fresh breads and different treats each day. Well situated for visits to Mont St. Michel (a must) and Normandy in general. Bernard and Martine were delightful and nothing was too much trouble Wifi offered but none of our party were able to connect to it.

We booked one night here as a stop off on our way to Cherbourg. It's an old chateau filled with antiques and quaint bits and pieces everywhere you turn. The entrance is a little sudden but we had been forewarned by other reviewers and spotted it easily enough. It is also quite narrow so watch your car! The chateau is down a narrow and quite dark avenue but the garden opens up to a very pleasant and secluded green space. There is ample secure parking. The bedroom we stayed in was huge (La Libellule) with a very comfortable bed and bathroom en suite. We didn't hear any traffic noise during the night. Wi-fi was good in the bedroom and living area downstairs. We received a warm welcome from the owners Bernard and Martin. Breakfast was typical French (bread, jam, tea, coffee, cake).
Avranches is within walking distance but be prepared for a very steep climb - not for the faint hearted.
We would highly recommend this charming old place.

Quiet, clean, charming, and centrally located. The hosts, Martine and Bernard LeClerc, are knowledgeable and helpful about restaurants, museums and directions, and were more than accommodating. This is an ideal location for visiting Mont St. Michel and the coast.

I stayed in Le Jardin Secret for two nights while holidaying in France. Mr. & Mrs. Le Clerc were excellent hosts and a model of hospitality. The provided a very pleasant stay. I would have preferred a more English or Australian style breakfast, but what they did provide for breakfast was nice.

Mr. Le Clerc drove me to the train station at the conclusion of my visit and assisted with translating French bus timetables into English. The room was quite spacious and wi-fi is included in the price.

Jardin Secret is ideally located for exploring Avranches Scriptorial Museum and Mont St. Michel. The latter is a bus ride of around twenty minutes away.
