Altos is a beautiful gem hidden in the lovely town of Avranches. It may not be big and grand but it has everything to make it an excellent hotel. The room I stayed in was modern and refreshing. All exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the spa is highly recommended.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on 5th January on route to Cherbourg to return home from our Christmas vacation in Spain. Very friendly gentleman at reception who told us a little bit about the area. There was car parking available to the rear of the hotel, but was more like a piece of scrub ground and poorly lit, for which we were charged €6 for the privilege. This 3* hotel charged €99 for room only plus €1.80 taxes and of course the €6 car parking bringing the total to €106.80. not very impressed, in the morning the young gentleman at reception initially thought we were having breakfast but on checking our booking he found we were not so he offered us a coffee, which we accepted, as we were about to depart the owner who we had met the previous evening looked for payment for the 2 coffee (which by the way were almost cold) we explained that the young staff member gave us the impression they were complementary. eventually he said the coffee was on the house. I should think so after such a price for a room and parking.

Good Morning. First, we would like to clarify that you didn’t book breakfast in advance. But since you were sitting in the lobby near the breakfast area, it was absolutely normal for our receptionist to ask if you wanted something to eat or drink because it’s a matter of courtesy. Much to our surprise, you thought the coffee we served was complimentary. You were the first guest we came across who thought beverages served in the lobby or bar area would be free of charge. Nevertheless in order to avoid further confusion or undue disturbance to other guests we decided to waive this charge. On the subject of our parking arrangements, our main concern is to provide the best care for the protection of our guests, their property as well as their safety and privacy. Our parking lot is safe and secure and is for hotel guests only. In your case, you can rest assured that your car and all the belongings kept inside will be safe upon your return from Spain, for just 6 euros per night. Finally, we would like to thank you for allowing us this opportunity to bring to the attention of our guests some of the most insignificant details of our hotel information in no uncertain terms and taking advantage of this platform to show your complete satisfaction with our services. Best Regards.

The room smelled like B.O. we had to go to the store and bought a fan and a candle. Even the room service people know it smells they leave the window open.
The pictures are photo shopped! We stayed here only because of how close it is to St. Michel which is about 30 minutes away. Other hotels are much closer and look better!

Room Tip: Ask for disability access room... you might get bigger shower!

Good morning. We do not understand exactly what you mean, because we have not received any complaint regarding such problems during a stay. The vulgarity of your words does not allow us to answer. Waiting your informations. Greetings.

We went there for the grand vacation week end of L'Ascension so we were happy to find a last minute booking for a family of 3 as all hotels were fully booked within a range of 25km around Le Mont St Michel. The hotel is very clean and the room was large and cosy. The deco although probably a bit too colorful for us, is in line with what to expect from a 3* hotel.
The breakfast is very good and the staff welcoming and helpful.

It was probably the priciest fare to go during the year but it was all inclusive and acceptable for such week end.

Thank you for your visit. We are happy you enjoy in the hotel. The colors, in one family room only, are specially looked to enjoy young children who like it very much. We agree it's not a classical choice for your home, but maybe for one night experience only with us.
Best welcoming. Reception.

We stayed at The Altos for a family wedding. The staff without exception are fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble . Fortunately they all spoke English but were also encouraging and helpful when we attempted French. The rooms are clean modern and comfortable and are refreshed daily. Buffet breakfast was very good. A very friendly environment. The town is just a stroll and we found the locals welcoming and friendly. You can see Mont St Michel from the town as it is so close.
This is a very lovely hotel in a very lovely town. Try it!

Room Tip: We were given a room by the lift which I thought might be a problem but I didn't hear a thing.
