Vougeot was the great discovery of our tour de France.
Be here, with all the assistance of hotel's manager Alan, made a special mark at the end of our journey.
The rooms are large, and he put us in one with a magnificent view of the grapes plantation, giving us at once a sense of this terroir.
I recommend.

This older hotel has a sewer gas problem on the upper floor. My wife and I stayed here in 10/2013 and we smelled a slight odor when we got our room, but in the middle of the night the odor of sewage got stronger so we closed the bathroom door. By morning it was so strong we had to leave the room. I went to the desk to complain and the guy wasn't surprised and started drawing me a diagram on how to fix a plastic drain to the shower. I asked to come to the room and fix it. Apparently, when people shower, the pressure of water going down presses sewer gas up popping off their cheap plastic shower drain seal fumigating the upper floor. They don't think it is a problem, but with enough complaint they gave us different room for the second night. Same thing happened the second night, but it was not as bad because I kept pushing on the shower seal when the smell got bad.
The reason they are dishonest is because when we checked in they told us the breakfast was 10 euro, but they charged us 12 euro on checkout. Additionally, we asked where we could rent bikes. They said they didn't know but they had 2 bikes we could use, but they did not mention anything about a fee. Another couple had the bikes, but when they returned, we took a quick 30-40 minute ride because we had dinner plans. Upon checkout, we got charged 24 euro. When I complained about the charge and them not telling us, the morning person got aggressive towards me and said the information is posted in the room.
My wife and I travel a lot and the treatment we got here has to be the worst we can remember.

Room Tip: Do not accept an upstairs room even if you are willing to stay here. Bring fabreaze to get the sewer...

We used this hotel as a stopover to Provence and on our return and loved it. The views over the vineyard are beautiful and its so, so peaceful. The rooms are rustic, but very comfortable, my only complaint being what was presumably a family room above us and you can hear the children running up and down, but they were soon asleep. We had the platters on the way down, which were far too much, but greatly enjoyed with rose wine sitting in the sun by the vineyard. The breakfast was very good and the staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly. We were very pleased to meet Raoul the labrador on our return visit, who had been on his holidays. He was particularly partial to cuddles and bread dipped in egg!! If you have time, walk to the Chateau (5 minutes) and take a tour, amazing value at 5 euros and a beautiful place. We will be back one day.

We use this hotel as a staging post on trips to Provence as it s a good place to break the journey. This stone built hotel is set at the end of a quiet village about three miles from Nuits St Georges. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Those at the rear of the building overlook the vineyards and chateau and there is a grassy terrace behind the hotel with the sane view and this is an ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine. The hotel does not serve dinner but this can be taken at a restaurant down the road. Breakfast is simple but very good.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the vineyards at the rear.

This charming little hotel is set in the on the main street of Vougeot with vineyards in the back. It's very clean, spacious and comfortable -- absolutely no complaints and excellent value. Not a whole lot to do in Vougeot, though, but conveniently located between Beaune and Dijon -- great for visiting vineyards along the Route de Grand Cru. I have free internet in the room, which is located directly above the lobby. Excellent stopover. Didn't try the breakfast, but seemed a little price. There's a free parking lot in the back, which was full, but I parked right across the street, which is probably more convenient anyway.

This is a popular location for Brits driving to the South of France and wanting a half way stop for the night. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it even though it was a bit expensive for what it was. The hotel has no bar but offers wine from its own vineyards, but don't expect this to be good value for money. The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel offers a cold meat and cheese dinner - the other alternative within walking distance is the one restaurant in the village.
We found the rooms large but far too hot in Aug particularly if you get one on the top floor; then there was the compressor going all night to regulate the wine cellar (funny how regulating the cellar was far more important than customer comfort), and then the early morning farm vehicles starting up - this was far from a quite country hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor are too hot in the summer and rooms on the bottom floor are too noisy - try a...
