We were in Vouvray overnight, en route back to the UK from Spain. It was cold and we had had to walk into the village from our Chambre d’Hote, about 3k away. So we just went into the first restaurant we could find. La Scala was the one.
The service was good, the atmosphere was fine and the food was OK and as described. So why only average? It was nothing special, it was just another Italian Restaurant like many others we see around the world. My wife had a vegetarian pizza and enjoyed it, apart from there being so much filling that the centre was soggy. I had a great starter of cold meats and a pizza margherita – both were OK.
So I have nothing bad to say about the place. It was OK, that's all.
