Overall experience out of 10 would be 9. Philipe mentioned that he expected to have help on the dining terrace but the help could not come until after we had departed. For 18 covers, the restaurant needs two people serving. However this is meant to be a constructive/helpful comment since the overall experience of spending 4 nights at this wonderful place was first class and to be recommended.

Room Tip: Cannot imagine that any rooms would be noisy - we had Laragais which is one floor above the terrace...

A little gem. We booked in at the last moment and as there was only one room available, which our daughter occupied, we were offered the possibility of staying at Phillippe's neighbour's house. I was a bit hesitant at first but he assured me it was beautiful and only 5 mins away. It turned out to be two mins away and it was perfect.
The hotel itself is really beautiful and full of charm. The breakfasts are delicious as are the evening meals. As a special treat, after dinner, the owners give renditions of songs from the musicals. Our stay was delightful.....do not hesitate to book this superb hotel.

Returned to Cuq en Terrasses this year for the second time and found it every bit as good as before. The whole package which is sublimely put together - the visual aspect as you arrive at the hotel, its frontage is exactly what you would imagine the archetypal French rural retreat should look like; the interior decor styles blend and intrigue as you pass from reception hall to lounge, and depending on your choice of room, as you ascend or descend the curving stairway to your room; the tiled terrace facing South, just right for a drink which Philippe or Andonis will serve on arrival should you wish adding to the pleasure of a welcome which sets you immediately at ease, makes for a wonderful place to subsequently enjoy an aperitif, Andonis' cooking or to watch the glorious sunsets (if you aren't already joining in with the post-dinner chansonnette); the wonderful gardens which spill down the steep slope below the main bulding are a credit to the vision and skills of the gardener; the swimming pool which has been skillfully and tastefully organised to accomodate French legislation from where you can look back up to the four storey presbytery and the church spire beyond - is a rare treat that we have never before encountered elsewhere during 20 years of holidaying in France.

Above all 'though, its is Philippe & Andonis' determination to ensure that their guests enjoy their time at Cuq en Terrasses that shines through and makes this such a special place.

We had the pleasure of spending 4 days at Cuq en Terrasses where our children got married this past July. The Hotel itself is situate on top of a little hill with the most amazing views. The rooms are delightfully and tastefully furnished, spacious and very comfortable. We had booked for dinner, bed and breakfast as well as for the wedding celebrations and the food was delectable, attention to detail and presentation were exquisitely done. To Andonis and Philippe, you both - and your staff, made our stay at the hotel a once in a lifetime experience, your charm and grace, your willingness to share your knowledge and the fun hours spent around the pianola will remain with us for many years to come. We look forward to coming back to Cuq en Terrasses and highly recommend this hotel for an experience you will never forget!

Room Tip: All rooms were lovely - no preferences!

A veritable jewel in South West France, Cuq en Terrasses has so much to offer. It's hill top position commands stunning views across farmland. It offers the opportunity of excursions to medieval villages and countryside most of which is not overrun with tourists.
During our 10 night stay we were welcomed warmly into Phillipe's and Andonis' domain who were keen to delight and entertain. The staff were equaly welcoming as was Noemi the dog and Duchesse the cat.
Wonderful food, well stocked wine cellar, lovely breakfast and countryside charm. It is well worth seeking out the local wine growers to bring back some wine to remind you of your stay at Cuq en Terrasses

This is a very special place - like visiting old friends at home. Philippe and Andonis are the perfect hosts. Hospitality is unbeatable, food delicious and wine list excellent, as are the peace and tranquility of this hidden away gem. There are lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, and it's a good base to explore by car too. The perfect place to relax and unwind.

Be warned however - if you expect to be waited on hand and foot during the day, or want anything other than total peace and quiet then this is definitely NOT the place for you!

We really loved this hotel. The location is fantastic, the food fabulous, the rooms large and furnished really well and have everything you want. Dinner overlooking the stunning landscape is something we will remember for a long time. You must also join in on the singing around the pianola at the end of the day.
