“The best historical artifact”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Really great views and surrounded by some brill restaurants, but the best bit is the oil painting of the general slumped in a chair after facing a revolutionary firing squad, and the very same chair is next to the painting, complete with bullet holes! Great for the kids, and childish grown-ups too!

“Very Interesting Chateau”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

This château lays claim to being the best preserved medieval château in the world. Whether or not this is true, I do not know, but what I do know is that it really is spectacular. The Château looks wonderful and, when standing on the roof, it appears you can see the whole island. The interior of the Château doesn't have much in the way of original features (probably due to it's age and the amount of conservation work done on it), but it houses a fair collection of artefacts and items of interest, including a rather gaudy collection of English crockery. Their are signs all around informing you that you cannot take photos once inside which was a little disappointing, but understandable. And I do not think I would recommend a visit if you have young children as they may find themselves getting a little bored. The Château isn't terribly big so one would not expect to spend much time looking around, but for a short visit in the afternoon it was very good. I would visit it again.

“Nice place”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

An interesting place set in the main town on island. The town is full of restaurants, and recommend those situated around the Chateau.

“Great view from the top”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Not a great museum but some interesting exhibits and the view across the island in all directions from the ramparts is worth the climb
