“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Yes breathtaking in more than one way. In the views, in the admiration of the building, and in the effort to climb the best part of 300 steps to get to the top. Not a lot to do other than climb the lighthouse, but it HAS to be done. Do it.

“Breathtaking views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

Even for someone who is quite fit, the climb to the top of the tower is quite a challenge. However once up there the views are great. The lighthouse dates form 1843 and sits behind a lower and older tower. Because the Island is so flat you can see most of it from the top.

Beautiful setting and nice place to walk along the ocean!! The entire family loved it - and the stairs have good exercise.

“Well worth a visit with sweeping views to be had at the top”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

On a sunny, clear day, this lighthouse is well worth a visit. 257 steps to the top and you are afforded unlimited 360 degree views. The attached exhibit room at the base of the lighthouse was interesting and the gift shop was one of the best we've seen. There is a nice beach and trail to walk along nearby. The restaurants in the vicinity are also quite good for a touristy area - especially the Café du Phare.
