The hotel itself is great. Nice rooms (although not that big) and the smell and feel of the hotel is nice. The huge garden is heavenly.. We could sit there all day. And we had plenty of time to do so because we didn't sleep that much. There is no airconditioning so you need to sleep with the windows open... unfortunatelly the even numbered rooms are opposite the market place which is a popular hangout for the youth of the village untill late and they like to scream when getting back from a night out (at 3/4 or 5 AM). In the early morning they start building the market and the churchbells start their day from 7AM (twice, sometimes three times each hour)..

Room Tip: You really need a room facing the garden.

Tranquil, understated, beautifully decorated and worth a visit.
Have come back for a third time for a quick cycling break before the summer kicks off.
Have recommended this many times and have never been disappointed.
The hotel is run by two sisters .
Their brother runs a highly rate restaurant across the square which is also worth a visit.

Room Tip: Try out the spa

Small charming property nested in the wildest village of the island. Go for the odd numbers as your room will be on the garden side and you will really enjoy your stay. If you are given an even number, no need for a wake up call: in summer, from 06.30 am you will be part of the dressing of the open market and in case this noise is at the end part of your dreams, a very energetic "angelus" will définitely wake you up at 07.00 am sharp.
Nevertheless, very reasonnable price for the Island and very nice staff (spécial mention for Laura)
Standard breakfast is not in line with what can be expected but if you accept to pay for side orders (eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice) your stay will be a very good souvenir!!!!

St Clement is a stop off between Ars and Les Portes. There is a small food market each morning after which it is quiet.By 9.00 pm the whole area is deserted
We booked for 6 nights and stayed for three at this hotel,( because we had to according to the terms of our booking). The hotel is isolated and is really only a place to sleep or to go for expensive Spa treatments- but,as a matter of interest we werent once asked if we would like to buy one of the treatments.
It is right opposite the local church, and you can hear the church bells every hour from 7am to midnight. If you like to sleep past 7 try elsewhere. The wireless internet access worked but had to be reconnected everytime you wanted to use it. The hotel rooms and gardens are good and well kept. However breakfast at €13.80 each is too expensive.
The Chat Botte Restaurant which is close by was good value for the Plat du jour but everything else was overpriced.Locally the Boulanger has a simple breakfast for about €5 and L'Ouest Cafe
does good lunchtime and evening food.

The young receptionist Alicia was very helpful and pleasant, but the owners gave the impression that they really wished they were speaking with their absent Parisian friends.

Stayed here whilst buying a property locally....Hotel was charming & typical of the Island, parking was excellent, staff so helpful & could not do enough to assist.
Room comfortable & very nicely decorated.
Food at the Restaurant was fabulous - not cheap, but superb, as was the service.
I would certainly recommend this hotel, in one of the quietest villages.

We stayed at this hotel and enjoyed the charm of the town and the surroundings. However, the rooms have poor sound insulation and you can hear very clearly the TV and the conversation of your neighbor. Another downside is the wireless internet access, which is only limited to the lobby (when it actually works). The bathroom is nice and the garden/patio is pleasant. The owner was not particularly friendly.
