“Good food, friendly staff, great ambiance.”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We had a reservation for a larger group that was set months in advance. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the restaurant, they did not have record of our reservation. Luckily we kept all our communications between the restaurant via email and was quickly evident that the error was on them. The manager more than made up for the mishap by providing us with a private terrace outside and a round of drinks on the house. Mistakes happen and they rectified that issue and it all turned to be a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and plentiful. I will certainly be returning.

“how do run out of pasta if you are an Italian Restaurant?”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We have a summer home near New Buffalo. We tried the Terrace Room based on our positive experiences at Bentwood Tavern. There are 6 pasta items on the menu. Three of them are linguine based dishes. 40 minutes after we ordered the waiter informed us they were out of linguine. How? It is half of your pasta menu. They substituted a different pasta noodle and the clam "linguine" was essentially quartered tomatoes in a pinot grigio sauce with just a few noodles. They did bring out some additional noodles when I complained and they were luke warm. As we were leaving they informed a table nearby they were out of spaghetti. The view was nice, the bread was good and our server was attentive. I would recommend dining at Bentwood instead or Brewsters if you are in the mood for Italian.

“Small but good food”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We enjoyed dining here. They had us in and out in under an hour...maybe because we had a baby with us?? Either way, the food and service were great. Very nice setting.

“Average Italian, decent outdoor atmosphere”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

The food is fine, but you're paying for the location.

We had a reservation for a Thursday night and learned that outdoor seating is first-come, first-serve. The place seemed quiet, so we had no trouble getting a nice table. You're looking out over a small harbor, so you see lots of boats, but not a ton of water. Don't expect to see the vast expanse of Lake Michigan stretching out before you.

It was very cold on our visit, so I thought it was pretty great the server brought my date a blanket.

For our appetizer, we chose the baked asiago and goat cheese with garlic bread. Solid, if unspectacular.

I ordered the papardelle with bolognese. It was fine. Nothing mind-blowing. Standard pasta. I've had better elsewhere.

The bread was hot and soft, which is mandatory for any decent Italian joint.

Final damage was $64 before tip. Kinda steep for two small pasta dishes, one appetizer and two glasses of wine.

Terrace Room is nice, but there are better food options in the area.

“Excellent pasta”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We dined recently with friends from the area and enjoyed the outside dining experience immensely. The dinners were all well prepared and nicely presented, with delicious bread to accompany. The hands down winner for the evening was the pasta with seafood in a tomato vodka sauce. I've never had better: abundant shrimp, scallops, etc.; al dente pasta, fabulous sauce.
When it began to drizzle, the staff gave us blankets to wrap around our shoulders. I'm sure we were quite a sight, but happily finished off our excellent meal.
