We stayed at Marine Grand Resort for 4 nights (early August 2014). We came to the area for the wineries and Casino. We were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are more like a condo than hotel. We had a complete kitchen, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, utensils, etc. along with a dining table and living room with fold out sofa. Also had an electric fireplace & our room, being an end room had 2 balconies with chairs - nice for overlooking the harbor. Our room was on the 2nd floor at the very end of the building - furthest from the lobby, restaurant/bar, coffee shop, but nice & quiet end overlooking the harbor. There was a separate large bedroom with a very comfortable king bed & a huge bathroom with double sinks, shower and separate deep tub. Although there was a small coffee maker in the kitchen which was supplied daily with coffee, etc. There is also the coffee shop - Joe's just off the lobby. Standard coffee is free & very good. They have pastries & snacks & 24-hr a day ice cream is available. They will bring it to your room if you wish after the coffee shop hours. There is a nice bar and tavern (Bentwood Tavern) there. We did not eat there but the food smelled wonderful. We were not there on a weekend so the bar on the rooftop deck was not opened. We did take our drinks from the Bentwood Tavern with us up to the rooftop deck a couple of nights - very nice view & comfortable seating - not a huge deck though. The only thing that would have been nice to have was a toaster in the kitchen. The space between the one wall & the bed was a little narrow...but overall it was really a nice place to stay. Hotel staff were all very nice & accommodating. We called the front desk for something & they delivered it within minutes. There are also indoor & outdoor pools and an indoor hot tub. Towels are supplied & are large. If you want to go down the street a bit to the beach they provide towels & beach chairs. Bicycles are also free to ride.

Room Tip: Since we did not have a boat and did not need first floor access directly to a boat docked in the ha...

We stayed for three nights as a couple. It is definitely the best location on the harbor as compared to other resorts, however, we expected a lot more for $379/night. That was for just a basic room. The fireplace didn't work, no microwave, the mini fridge barely fit a few bottles of water (forget leftover containers) and it was very plain. We rented a movie and DVD player and the remote was taped where batteries go in and the DVD was scratched. The restaurant was very nice but again, pricey. Be warned that it is not really a short walk to the beach as they state. I would stay again but only for about $175/night at most. The halls and elevator need desperate help. Never got to enjoy rooftop bar because it was closed for private parties each night... We made the best of it, but the final bill was hard to swallow.

I had a brief one-night stay, but I was impressed with the decor, the friendly staff, and the bar and restaurant. It also had a nice little deli type convenience store. Loved the access to the hotel bikes, as well as the furnished deck off from the room. The workout room was minimal and the hours started later in the morning...I believe 8am...however, I was able to gain access anyway with the room key. I was there on business, and I am not aware of the room rate that was paid, but it is a nice resort for a romantic getaway. I see that a hotel booking website is charging $169 for a summer weekend night, and it is worth that. Charming little community and a pretty marina.

This was our first time at this resort. I expected more for the price. The staff was exceptional, but the hotel was mediocre at best. The halls are dingy, no artwork, nothing more than a Super 8 feel. The rooms are plain and undecorated. The Marina was a beautiful view. It was nice to have the bikes, beach chairs and towels as an amenity. I would expect more ambiance for the price of the hotel. The hallways are noisy. The rooftop was a draw for us, however, it was closed both nights that we were there for private parties/weddings. I would not stay here again.

Decided to splurge-paid much more for the Marina Grand than any other hotel I've ever stayed in, so was really expecting an elaborate resort. Pros: Very comfortable bedding/bedding; beautiful lobby; responsive staff Cons: Beyond the lobby, the hotel is really unremarkable--no artwork, scuffed paint, stained carpet in the elevator, indoor pool is fine but the room is literally bare of any decoration/anything typical of any other hotel pool. The outdoor pool is quite small. The complimentary beach chairs were handy, but the towels were straggly and quite worn. No phones in the room, so guests must trek out to the front desk with questions/requests. The in-room fireplace was nice (one the pilot light was relighted.) The room itself was fine but not stunning in any way. You are really paying for location, it seems. The view of the marina is lovely and restful-the patio/porch was the best spot. It was terrific to lounge, read a book, and relax. Know that the entire vibe will change on Friday night when it is inundated with weekenders from Chicago...it is packed and loud. It was not disruptive for sleeping, however. Was really looking forward to watching the sunset from the roof--part of what I paid for--so it was disappointing that it was closed for a private party. The staff was responsive to that issue, delivering a bottle of wine to the room in apology (so nice, but would have preferred a bit of a financial discount.) Also unable to eat outdoors at the restaurant, either, unless ordering a complete entree-forget it if all you want is drinks and appetizers. You will enjoy your stay but need to be realistic about expectations--if you are expecting sparkling new accommodations, think again.

A girls getaway, we had a blast. This resort is amazing. We had a one bedroom with loft suite and the adjoining room with 2 beds. We had plenty of room to sleep 7 women along with 2.5 baths. Kitchen was sufficient with everything we needed except for no corkscrew. The dining room table along with couch and 2 chairs in living area gave us all plenty of room for sitting. The suite had fabulous modern features and was bright and airy. Loved the view of the harbor but balcony is small with only room for two to sit. Very clean and beds were very comfortable. The restaurant is excellent and the staff was wonderful. One word of advice about the location. We were told that the beach & town were just short walks away which is true if you are the average young adult (under 55) in good physical condition. We are all 59-64 with usual aches and pains. We rode the train so our only transportation was walking. The walking was a struggle for us and we could never of made it to the beach carrying chairs, etc. The shuttle was wonderful for getting to and from the bus station. We really loved our stay and did enjoy use of the outside pool !

Room Tip: We were on third floor, rooms 330 & 331. Very quiet, airy and bright. Unable to see sunset but s...

I have stayed at this resort for the past 3 summers, somehow always getting the same exact room: 332, a loft suite with one bedroom. The view of the bay is beautiful. The unit has reupholstered 2 of the chairs and changed some side tables, and it was neat and clean as always. My kids, a teen and a college student, love this place and "our" unit: they stay in the loft bedroom, which has twin beds. The master bedroom has a king bed. The resort added new sectional furniture to the rooftop deck and bar service, which is nice. The only hiccup was the pilot light was out on our fireplace, but a call downstairs to the friendly staff had that fixed in a second. The staff are all friendly, even the onsite handyman was super nice, making sure the bike we checked out from the front desk was set to a good height. The onsite cafe is good, too! This is our little "home away from home" for a few days each summer and we will be back next year!

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking, ask for a room near one of the 2 elevators.
