Sheraton Detroit Novi

The Sheraton Novi looks like is was a Hyatt in the 70's, with lots of concrete, smaller rooms, and dated decor. The restaurant staff is friendly, but the rest is not so much. The desk gave us a list of rules at check-in and refused to honor the free wifi that was included in our booking. The rooms are on the dusty side and very noisy, especially is you have an adjoining door. sound travels fast and far. The doors are metal and slam easily. The worst is the beds, which are thin, worn, and hard, definitely not the usual Sheraton fare. The location is great, but there are better options nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without an adjoining door.

I enjoyed my stay as always. Very friendly, and courteous staff. Always comfortable. The rooms are spacious and the king size bed is ultra relaxing. Being an SPG Gold member it's difficult to leave after the late 4 p.m. check out. I'm sure to return here on my next visit.

The rooms are a decent size and fairly clean but they are definitely dated. The rooms have really large desks to work at but no plugs that are easily accessible. The TV didn't work all that great with only a few channels showing up well in HD.

My first room was an adjoining room. The wall/door was so thin that the guy next to me might as well have been sitting in the bed next to me. I could even hear the person he was talking to on the phone. Thankfully, I was able to change room. Also, the air conditioning in my first room didn't work very well.

I spent several journey in this hotel and every time it was a pleasure to go here. All the staff was friendly, usefull.
The room were very comfortable and spacious even if they are a little bit old.
The food in the restaurant is amazing (specially the famous chicken ceasar salad). The breakfast too.
There is a inside pool, a sport room.

The hotel is located closed to the highway, about 35 minutes from the airport.

Stayed here for a weekend visit to see relatives who live in the area. The hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable. The plumbing in the bathroom was not so great: it took skill to get the toilet to fully flush, the sink backed up at least twice. The WIFI was good - better than at other Sheratons I've stayed at.

The hotel is right near the freeway. It is easy to get to and from the airport and other locations. Soundproofing is good: highway noise is not a problem.

Overall, it's a clean, well run hotel that is in need of renovation.

I stayed here as a friend of mine had his wedding reception in the grand ballroom. The front of the hotel looks good enough off the freeway but once you park and walk up it looks like a cheap 50's Vegas hotel with the glaring fluorescent lights on the canopy above you with chipping paint ready to fall on you and your car if you pulled under it. Moving past that, upon entering you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and ambience of the lobby. Check in was quick and efficient with no issues. Take the elevator up to your floor and step out. At this point you may be wondering if you are in the same hotel after the elevator doors open. The hallways and rooms look like they were last updated in the 1980's. Upon entering the room I realized I had stayed in holiday inns for half the price with a nicer room and better bathroom. Alas, perhaps since I booked the sheraton club level everything would be ok. Wrong! The lounge was just as old and worn as the rooms and was very unimpressive. After grabbing a can of soda for myself I retreated to my room to shower before the reception began. I was just hoping that the facilities for that would be more updated and modern. I was correct in this and was pleasantly surprised by it. The grand ballroom was very nice and all wedding related activities were top notch. After hours at the open bar we retreated to the best mans room which was connected to the bridal suite by a large open room in between. The room was large in size and nice enough. We spent a little time here knocking back some more champagne before leaving them to have their fun. The next morning I regretfully inserted my key card into the lounge again to see if they had anything set out. This time an attendant was in there and the food layer out was better than average. I would say overall the hotel is ok with the rooms and hallways needing a serious update buying would not hesitate to book an event here as the ballrooms were nice and the service seamless and extremely professional.

Stayed here for 2 nights.

Good hotel offering all the amenities you'd expect from a Sheraton 3,5* hotel. We got a view looking over the I96 highway I think it was. Nice seeing the sunrise and everyone going to work in the AM. Also, free parking.

Only disappointment was the safe box. It's only available in the reception.
